I have to decide whether or not to pay for a parking pass at my new law school. It’s a $400 pass for the year, and from where my apartment is it’s a 4 minute drive but would be a 35 minute walk or 12 minute bike ride (and I do have a bike). Also it’s a not great neighborhood.

What should I do? Should I cough up and buy one?

Don't buy a pass, park in the lot and see how long you could get away with this. If your lot is anything like mine was its an open lot and no assigned space. I once did a whole semester before u got caught because the parking attendants were stoned art students and saved $280. Then I printed out a pass after i took a photo of one and made a full scale pass that hangs from the rearview mirror, got another semester out of that. Had to pay a $20 fine for both instances, but saved $560 in the process. Then next year covid happened and everything went online. If this shit fails, youre going to law school, read the fine print and find a loophole, or sue them. Do anything but give these pricks more money.

Doesn't matter. Listen here noob: By the time you graduate, all legal work is automated. So see that you get the connections for a work-free position of profit. Do whatever it takes to get this. Whatever it takes.

You must walk incredibly slow. I cannot imagine anywhere that is a less than 5 minute drive taking 30+ minutes to walk unless you immediately get on and off the interstate to get there.


I think whatever you GPS is telling you is bullshit. Just walk or ride your bike because there is no it takes that long unless you old, fat, or female.
