Anyone who thinks that "all men are created equal" is a blind fool. On the contrary, they differ widely in intelligence, strength, charm, conscientiousness, appearance, health, values, etc. NOBODY is equal to anyone else. And any system that allows people any freedom will inevitably sort people in various ways. Even systems that purport to equalize people by force will be divided into the people administering the force and those being forced. Human beings have ALWAYS organized society in hierarchies. So the relevant questions are what the hierarchy should be based on and who should judge. It appears clear to me that basing hierarchies on merit in producing goods and services for public consumption is preferable to basing hierarchies on political power.
