The do-nothing jobs are largely exaggerated. Just picture a regular office job with all the same tasks but they let you do them from home. The reason the WFH people brag about having so much free time is because they don’t have to spend all day trying to look busy like the in-office monkeys do. In the average office job, most people are not doing real work for the entire 8 hour shift. It’s more like 4 hours of work, and that’s being generous.

There are very few cases of real "do-nothings" where someone has truly fallen between the cracks of a large corporation and nobody cares that they get paid for a couple of days of work.
Most often the person is not busy for 8 hours and can do stuff around home, or go to the supermarket, or waste time BUT.
But you actually have to do stuff and you often don't know how it is going to be spread throughout the day. E.g. you can finish your dumb admin work and call it a day and then someone writes to you with a problem just when you thought you are finished. Or you have configured some SW/HW and you are all done, and then boom - an incident happens. And not every week is lazy, some are super busy.

PS: And don't forget the micromanaging Indian who pushes unnecessary bullshit and meetings, just to feel and pretend that he is doing something important and is a big shot.

I had an honest to God do nothing job at a multinational in 2017, because of a shit for brains director. I actually held on to it for two years. We had a team of 3 people and we did nothing all day because you could do the work in 45 minutes. We just fucked around on our computers and had coffee in the kitchen multiple times per day and we'd stay for like an hour. Practically the entire floor seethed at us, it was glorious. Then they fired the retard director and we got rolled into other teams so I quit kek.
