Chainlink is the one who sells oracle services that must be paid for in link. In the event of mass adoption how is a stockpile of link tokens going to help Chainlink? Shouldn't it be the consumers of Chainlink oracle services who are stockpiling link in anticipation of increased demand/ decreased supply of link tokens on the open market?

And does no one find a problem with the fact that these tokens are supposed to be paid out to node operators and stakers? Sergey really is just stealing all the consumer fees for himself. Only difference is now the theft can be viewed trustlessly on the blockchain. Why are we celebrating this?

They're either going to stockpile it and gigadump on retail at some point or they believe the demand would be so high that they have to stockpile a bunch and dump it when the price is spiking like crazy.

The real fud is that we always theorized eventually when the switch was flipped all the revenue would flow into nodes, who would be paying stakers in a certain % APY, so a portion would flow directly into our hands. Instead they're just hoarding it. What the fuck is that? I guess it'll help put pressure on the price but I would really like to see real staking.

They need a token burn to pump the price, but unlike a real burn Sergey gets to use it to betray again.

This exactly. Going by the white paper, i always assumed that this last 350m stack for network incentivization was going to be the "reserve". They already dipped into it, so did nodes already burn through 30m worth of link jobs?

they don't retard....
this is a glorified buy back mechanism
and is very bullish
the aim is to pump the token

the reason they didn't do this before is that they had the best of both worlds
hundreds of millions in off-chain payments from chains and institutions
and hundreds of millions of link to dump on us
probably some of their vcs and larger investors got pissed off so they have done this, even though it's against their interests

It's a grift that's why. Anyone with common sense can conclude Chainlink is a fraud.

i dont understand there game plan other then they need to pump the price. They stopped paying out nodes so the sell pressure from them is gone. Countered with the buy pressure from the buy backs it should raise the price. I just dont understand there game. Is there an inside deal with trump or are they doing this to pump and then sell the rest of the 350

>SERGEY CLAIMS CL LABS GENERATES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN OFFCHAIN REVENUE
>ADDITIONALLY, CL LABS HAS MADE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS DUMPING THE LINK TOKEN
>AFTER 8 YEARS THEY ANNOUNCE ARE GOING TO START A STRATEGIC RESERVE
>INITIAL FUNDING?
A PITTANCE OF 1 MILLION USD
HOW DUMB AND BRAINWASHED ARE THESE MOTHERFUCKING SHILLS TO THINK THAT THIS IS BULLISH? HERE THEY ARE CHEERING FROM THE RAFTERS ABOUT AN INITIAL RESERVE OF 1 MM USD WHEN THEIR LEADER CLAIMS TO HAVE MADE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. DOESNT PASS THE SMELL TEST

Chainlinks value is directly tied to network usage. Mass adoption would make it so that the amount of link being bought back would outweigh the amount of link from the supply serg dumps, making them a non-factor.

BREAKING: Pyth have asked the Mobius devs for their B2 bombers, whose “bunker buster” penetrative ordinance are the only known weapons that can destroy Chainlink’s subterranean Strategic Chainlink Reserve.
International observers see this as a dangerous escalation in the conflict, and fear an outbreak of a World Oracle War if tensions are not reduced.

My theory is that this reserve will eventually be controlled by stakers.

Then eventually when he runs out of link to dump, all thats left will be
>whats in the reserve
>the link we have staked
>the link thats on exchanges which would drastically be decreasing in this mass adoption scenario.
Then since we aren't unstaking, and he can't dump anymore, and the network is still being used (leading to buy backs that won't be touched either) eventually there will be a supply shock once he's finished dumping. My guess is that the reserve is likely for company acquisitions down the line.

Because their record label owners buy the jewelry, give it to their signed artist on a cheap loan (maybe if its a good deal you gift it to them for making a good selling song or something). The artist gets to flex as if they are rich for a discount and the record label owner who is passing down the jewelry gets to earn passive income on a gold chain that's likely already increasing in value on it's own.

wait wait wait ... why would this create bullish momentum on the coin?

the reason i ask is, we've been told for years by catfishy and co that the team selling coins most certainly did not impact the token price

so this would be the reverse
so i'm just curious, how can the laws of supply and demand only apply one way?

has that ever happened before

I think they believed that the dumps didn't impact token price because that money was used to hire employees that brought value to the team to create news that would pump the token just enough making the dump equal out. If the team were sitting on their ass and we didn't hear a single news article and the twitter account just didn't post anything and sergey was doing zero media appearances then i'd say catfishy and co would agree that the dumps impacted the price because they weren't being used to improve the services in any way.

Becauase even with 18 decimal places, there will be global $LINK shortages in the future which will have the potential to cripple world trade and commerce; itll make COVID disruption look like a walk in the park because not having $LINK tokens will mean you're going back to the stone ages (i.e. pre-today). Sergey knows this, so its sensible to stockpile some for those future days.
