Iโm almost looking forward to the next bear. It seems to me that a futures etf like BITO would be able to capture upside on repeat. That is, you could hold 1 BTC and it could go from 115k back to 60k back to 115k and youโd be back where you were.
But BITO canโt pay a negative dividend. The share price can collapse. But the way the divs are calculated is based on a fiscal year calendar, where all profits must be distributed. Losses are only reflected in the share price. So it would pay you on the way back up each time.
Thatโs my hunch anyway. It hasnโt seen a bear market since it started paying dividends. But I think like you mentioned the low volatility in the future would still generate income.
And if saylor is even 25% correct in his prediction, 1 BTC worth of BITO would pay more than enough for a middle class lifestyle.
>>60761119I acknowledged that it loses ground against the underlying. I have a lot of self custodied underlying. I donโt want to sell it. I just want dollars automatically deposited in an account to buy groceries and gas someday. Frictional losses are fine by me. I know itโs not a free lunch.
20% behind BTC and falling. I get it. I also get 10k next month.
