I have a decision to make. I realise that in the US I will never be wealthy, and remain a wage slave. Through wage slaving, at age 35 I have managed to save up $125k USD. That doesn't seem to be enough in the US to mean anything, and I'm now thinking about moving to a third world country to live there permanently. I figure it is better to live comfortably in a poor country rather than be poor in a rich country. Surely I can live well enough off occasionally selling shares and crypto. Is this retarded? Has anyone else here taken the thirdworldpill?

provided you choose wisely your QoL could significantly rise, ie thailand. but due to visa restrictions you'll need to move around. so, 3-6 months in thailand, 1-3 months in the philippines, etc.
feasibility rests on your appetites. you can expect to hemorrhage cash if you fuck sluts and club 3 nights a week. but 1200 would normally suffice if living simply. the key would be to have enough to hold over until the next cycle. however, this is likely the last cycle for alts and such.

There's also second world countries. They have first world everything in the cities, but are poor farmers and fishermen out in the villages. Most of South East Asia is like this.
On 125k USD you could live a comfortable middle class life for over a decade in SEA without working.
$10k per year is more than most people are earning in places like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia...
Most people earn less than $1k per month.
