We never left the gold standard. Nixon only "temporarily suspended" the convertibility of dollars to gold for sovereignties to avoid giving France its gold back. Why do you think they've been so afraid of revaluing gold from $42.22 since the 70s? Like even just pegging it to fair market price? Why won't they do that? They know what it will do to inflation. The backing has always been there.

the gold held by america is valued at $42 per ounce.
if we revalue it to spot price of $3300, then we can print a lot of dollars which will be "backed" by this gold that we allegedly have.
if we revalue it to.. say $20k an ounce, then we can print a lot more dollars. hehe.

These. Everyone knows the USD is dying; BRICS and Friends want to replace it with a new gold standard currency so they can take over. The US / tptb doesn't like that, so they've opted to try and make bitcoin the new global currency.

Hence China making crypto illegal (forcing people to flee to gold), and the US placing a 39% tariff on gold to make it effectively unbuyable (forcing people to flee to crypto).

Maybe! I lean toward this if USD is in trouble. No way 100% gold lol. There are SDR protocols out there, and the stablecoins that the US is creating can be pegged to t-bills and whatever with proper PoR. The US must stimulate demand for t-bills globally with international use of USD stablecoins.

Thats Russian bullshit propaganda. Just like they have tailored stuff for the right and the left, they put out things like this for libertarians.
If you have economies that are still supposed to grow strongly โ€“ which is apparently the case with the BRICS โ€“ especially then a gold standard would be complete nonsense. If the economy grows fast, the money supply, and therefore the gold supply, would also have to increase massively all the time. Otherwise, prices would fall and people wouldn't buy because theyโ€™d expect to get their stuff cheaper in the near future.
(Apart from all the other problems. As if such different nations could agree on a central bank and how it should work)

>During his presidency, McKinley was a strong advocate for the gold standard and opposed the free coinage of silver, which was a significant issue in American politics at the time. His economic policies favored high tariffs and protectionism, which he believed would restore prosperity following the economic depression of the 1890s. This stance was a key factor in his political identity and contributed to his electoral success.

Yes you're correct about the elastic fiat system being crucial for fast economic growth unfer the current system. The type of growth planned involves building megacities in third world shitholes. The requirement for resources in these areas grows exponentially.
BRICS is part of the IMF wet dream of implementing the Keynes Bancor system of a supranational currency whereby surplus wealth in one country is constantly redistributed to countries that need it for growth. The idea is that the wealth us always being out to use and not stagnant. In fact it is designed such that any nation who hodls will be penalized for doing so.
Now forget the theoretical "economic" for a moment and go back to what I mentioned about the demand for resources that this causes. It simply is not realistic to build megacities like this and continue to grow economically beyond that. Because the act of building these coties is going to out such a strain on the global demand for resources, along with a slew of other effects, that the population bubble will implode.
We are looking forward to massive starvation, disease, war, the likes of which was never even possible before. Armageddon, Kali Yuga, whatever you want to call it. Those of us who are around will be very old by then (estimated to be 2050).
This isn't climate change bullshit. This is very tangible square sand mafia operations. It's going to be all resources. It's the trade-your-daughter's-ass for a loaf of bread economy. Actually you might be better off having a boy if you want to eat since most people will be systematically turned to faggotry by then.

This is the only scenario I can think of. The USD continues to slide at an accelerating pace, Holders of dollars start to panic sell. China steps up with a redeemable gold-backed trade currency to replace the USD as international trade and reserve currency. The USA has no choice but to issue a gold-backed trade currency. Nobody will want to use the unbacked USD even though the government tries to force it. Eventually, we are back to international gold money. This is plausible, but I would say 25% chance. Governments really hate having their hands tied when it comes to creating money from nothing.

this. It reeks of juden desperation desu.
Back in 2020 i theorized Asia would adopt a pseudo gold standard and the US would answer with a silver standard. It was the perfect answer : most silver mining output takes place in SA, especially Mexico, the US back then had all power on setting the spot price, had the logistic to vacuum all the physical bullion while keeping it underpriced, silver being key for the race toward tech domination...
But instead of this compromise Bloumpf and his financiers went full talmudo clown and went for shitcoins standard. The greed is unreal, and in the end Mao is having the last laugh with his quote

then it would be obvious if they ever wanted to reevaluate gold they'd do it to pay down debts or use it to take borrow against it.
but borrowing against it seems like it would be more cost effective to use gold to do back door dealings.

Fiat inflation makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Just look at the charts post-gold. There are a few winners and lots of losers in the fiat game. With fiat the winners are determined by political corruption. With gold and silver money, winners are chosen by hard work, intelligence, some luck, and the market. Jackson advocated for the use of gold and silver (specie) as the primary form of currency. He believed it would provide a more stable and reliable monetary system than paper money, which he associated with inflation and speculation.
The Bank War:
Jackson's conflict with the Second Bank, known as the "Bank War," led to the bank's eventual demise in 1836. This removal of the central bank contributed to a more decentralized banking system, where state banks held government deposits and issued paper money.
Specie Circular:
In 1836, Jackson issued the Specie Circular, requiring that payments for public lands be made in gold or silver. This move was intended to curb land speculation and control the money supply, but it also contributed to the Panic of 1837 as it led to a contraction of credit and a decrease in the availability of paper money.
Panic of 1837:
The economic downturn that followed Jackson's policies, culminating in the Panic of 1837, highlighted the challenges of a decentralized banking system and the potential instability of relying solely on specie. While Jackson wasn't directly responsible for the panic, his policies contributed to the conditions that led to it.
Gold Standard Act of 1900:
Although Jackson's actions didn't establish the gold standard, they laid the groundwork for later discussions and debates about monetary policy. The US formally adopted the gold standard in 1900, with the passage of the Gold Standard Act.
