Really the hardest part of retiring early or just retiring in general is having stable employment for a long period of time. And that employment has to pay decently, and you have to be able to invest a large percentage of your income, so no huge mortgage payments or rent payments. Even dating can be free if you meet up for a park, or like $5 if you meetup for coffee. Sports is cheap as fuck. Clubbing sucks anyway but really doesn't cost much to do once and realize it sucks.
Doing any of that shit wouldn't have set you back significantly from FIRE. Worst case you would be at 1.2m instead of 1.3m - which is way better than living a life of regret.
