I actually do hate spreadsheets, and would gladly move to using only databases if IT wasn’t incompetent and actually willing to budget me server space

For personal shit, yes.
For business shit, no. There is far too much data to keep track of. I’m an accountant for a large company. I can’t keep track of everything without spreadsheets.
