Seems like there is a tough barrier to work through when it comes to trying to keep your partner within the hobby. My ex hated cosplay and anime and it has done nothing but drive me to want to date cosplayers, more to help them afford better cosplays and all that, as well as just enjoy cons together and all that stuff. All the apps try and say that you can narrow down your search, or apps like Boo, but it just ends up being normies who either catfish or ghost.
Is there an actual place or app to use that isn't dog shit? At the same time I've found that cosplayers generally want to be left alone at cons while they do their thing.

why do cosplayers only cosplay attractive characters? is it because of vanity?

I was wondering if I ever make a cosplay, I firstly understand what makes it bad. Even if I dress properly, make up, good wig, I feel like it would look bad anyway. I was wondering if it is something else, like face structure or just being ugly. Also not talking about cosplays that don't match body build or those that want to look bad ironically.

What are your rare, unconventional or unpopular opinions in lolita fashion? I don’t like when girls wear gold tea parties in coords that have no gold in them, I see this particularly in sweet lolita and it gives off the same vibe as when itas wear white blouses with dresses that have no white in them, it just ruins the coord. You need to learn how to vibe and talk to people at conventions. If you're underage that's one thing. If you're old enough you should budget for a hotel room so you can party and party with strangers and make new friends. The best part about conventions is meeting people and subsequently running into them at other cons in other years and it's all so fucking beautiful. It's the only time you don't have to suppress your powerlevel because guess what? They know all the dumb memes you do and have a lot of overlap in interests and other things you enjoy. You can ask someone why they're green and actually learn something about Startrek because they fucking love star trek so much they painted themselves green! SO WHEN I ASK THEM THEY ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO GUSH ABOUT THE SHIT THEY LOVE! I FUCKING LOVE NERD CONVENTION SHIT HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why is there such a stigma against girls who cosplay for money? As someone who has never had a girlfriend, being able to send money to cute girls who cosplay as the characters that I love is one of the only things in my life that makes me feel like I have a purpose. From patreon to onlyfans, it's on of my biggest joys and motivations in my life. One day I hope I can give money to a cosplayer at a con in real life and not just through the internet.

i'm not saying every person needs to have the same accurate body as the character they are cosplaying as, call be fatphobic but seeing ugly ass fat pigs cosplay and expect compliments annoys me.

I don't know how they are not disgusted of being a fat bag, and looking like a pork compared to slim or fit cosplayers.

going to AX this year for a bit, but I wanna improve my mamimi cos. Rn im in the process of redoing the wig, but the clothes kinda bother me.

Ill post some pics of the jacket, thats mainly what I wanna improve. I wanna add her little jewel thingy but I dont know how I could make it and attach it, id have to make a little pocket and I cant really sew. (beginner kinda, I started cos in 2023)

also with her sailor collar, I dont know what color to dye it. I have tan dye, but I cant make out what the hell the color is in the anime. I will also paint the black stripe red.
