Ok and so the official list is bagel with cream cheese, pizza by the slice, bacon egg and cheese on a roll, coffee in a small paper cup out of a pot that's been sitting on a hot plate for a couple hours, cheese cake, boiled hotdog with brown mustard sourkraut nuclear green relish and red onion sauce, general chicken lo mein and eggrolls with duck sauce in a parking lot waiting for the boss to call and say its time to move the goods, knish low key, CORNED BEEF Reubens if it's pastrami gtfo, pastrami sandwiches on rye with mustard are fine tho, mystery meat gyro with white sauce and hot sauce. Chopped cheese is a trick, nobody eats those it's how we tell who's actually from here and who isn't.
It's a hipster psyop tourist trap slop the same way deep dish is to Chicago, nobody actually eats it.
The chicken cutlet hero with ketchup and mayo is the native choice, I like bbq sauce on mine personally

Me, if I only had 1 restaurant I could visit, I'd have to settle with a trip to Murray Hill neighborhood for one of the last full menu deli's, Sarge's.

I'd do the whole menu experience, a nice bowl of pickles like the pickled green tomatoes on the table, chopped liver app, potato pancakes or knishes w/ sour cream. I'd have a hard time on ordering a pastrami or corned beef on rye, or a hot entree like romanian steak, so I might have to split 2 dinners, and a bowl of soup too. Have to have an original cheesecake to finish, or to go container. Bagel for the hotel room or midnight snack to go, maybe some cookies.
