Iceberg Lettuce is superior and crunchy but most importantly lasts much much longer than green leaf Lettuce which helps contribute to less waste and less cost which ultimately is passed on to the consumer.

Am I the only one who thinks shredded lettuce tastes disgusting compared to whole leaves? It's got this sweet and rotting taste and smell to it I immediately notice no matter what meal it's in. Like it starts rotting as soon as you cut it. I feel like I'm on crazy pills because there are loads of MFers eating shredded lettuce out there.

I'm sure if it's preshredded from somewhere there's most likely additives to keep it fresh as long as possible. I know with shredded cheese, they tend to coat it with some kind of starch I think so it doesn't all stick into one big chunk.
