A quick story. Mate went to Uni in St. Andrews, Jockville (yeah he's a bit of a posho). Visited him up there, got shiteyed. For some strange reason, cloudberries came up in conversation. I said it was a good idea to go hunting for them. Didn't think anything of it. Turns out I'd say we should drive to the uplands to hunt for them. 5 hours, freezing cold, not equipped for any sort of trek.... found 4 of the fuckers. Just 4. End of boring but true story about cloudberries.

I'm in Virginia. I know where some are. In Salem VA, adjacent to Roanoke VA. In Green Hill Park, but hidden. In the back-right corner of the park near the river there is a trail, on that trail are pawpaw trees but they're hard to recognize because they're huge and tall like an oak tree pretty much and the fruits grow waaay up there, like, you aren't going to be able to get them, lol. To spot them you will have to look way up, they're huge, but they're high, shouldn't be hard to see it's just nobody looks up that high. And of course make sure they're in season or there won't be any.

I did for a long time, waited for like 5-6 years after hearing people talk about them. Everyone describes them as a mix between banana and mango, both are in my top 5 favorite fruits. I was disappointed, and I wish someone had told me not to get my hopes up. They have a lot of tannins when they're under ripe, making them pretty much inedible, and they rot super fast when they finally do ripen. If you do happen to get one at the perfect time, the flavor didn't taste like mango at all to me, it tasted like plastic with a hint of banana.

>someone is willing to try a new or exotic food

you must have autism or something. i know it's hard to wrap your head around, but sometimes people LIKE to experience new things, even if said new thing might end up being gross. and even if kiviaq is gross, hey, at least anon will know. its a form of actual truth seeking and experiencing the REAL world.
while sitting behind a computer screen allows you to learn about stuff, nothing beats actually going out and doing / trying things. because then you learn your (subjective) truth and can have an informed opinion on said thing.

Saying that you want to eat a bird that's been rotting for 3 months with all its guts, poop, and feathers rotting with it isn't "wanting to try something exotic", it's wanting to be "le edgy" because teenagers with social disorders, like you, think that makes them cool and different. It's not some niche kinda gross food like century egg or raccoon, its literal rot and disease that was eaten because it was a choice between that or death.

Your image is the answer except it is the same thing. One of the worst things about autism is that autistic people don't know how bad it really is. Imagine smelling like a skunk but having no sense of smell since birth. You walk around smelling like shit your whole life, everyone knows it but is too nice to give you shit for it. Meanehile you have no concept of smell whatsoever so you can't smell yourself and have no ability to comprehend why everyone else holds their nose around you. It's sad really.

Fermentation is a controlled process that allows only desirable bacteria. kiviaq is literally just rotten bird. Putting a stone on top of it doesn't control any bacterial growth, including the bacteria already in its guts and poop which are left in there to rot with it. i've had both raccoons and groundhog.
remove glands, silver skin, and soak in milk or salted water. for the soak you should change the water a few times to remove as much blood as possible. this works for all game animals and organs. massaging in a bowl is a quicker but more involved process.
any cook like you would a slow cooked beef dish. dont undercook or you could get parasites.
best raccoon i've ever had was stuffed with onions and garlic, then slathered in grape jelly before slow roasted in the oven.
