I'm just happy I found a PDO feta in the first place, I don't mind if it's milbona they're not bad

They sell this one at Walmart. I'm sure there are better ones but it's still tasty.

Not Greek but obviously in salad it's good. I also like it as a pizza topping and I've made something like alfredo pasta with feta instead of parm which was pretty good.

If it's a product imported from Europe we respect its PDO label I guess.

The USA doesn't exactly have something like that but we have various products labeled as from California, Idaho potatoes, Key limes, etc. and you can't misuse those labels.

That's pretty cool, I thought it was an EU only thing since I remember a lot of problems with trade deals failing over parmesan being named parmesan in Australia

Wrapped in phyllo, fried and then covered with honey and sesame seeds
Diced and seasoned with olive oil and oregano
Watermelon and feta salad
Can be added to any salad even fruit salad
Or eaten straight from the packaging in front of the fridge at 4:00 am

t. not greek
so I'd put it on a salad with a fresh and crunchy iceberg lettuce. black olive slices, tomato slices, perhaps some onion slices. an ev olive oil with modena vinegar, maybe some herbs (don't ask me whick herbs, idk.), maybe some fried bread cubes
that's a good meal fs

but where for me it really shines is in a kebab

Yeah I thought salad was the most obvious choice, I already do pic related for breakfast but I was doing it with imitation feta
I imagine olives go really well with it, although I have to finish my imitation feta supply before I can switch to this

Not in the true yuro sense. PDO is just a cartel system that allows producers to ignore quality as long as they live in the right neighborhood. Personally my favorite brie is made in Wisconsin.

Absolutely none of the yuro PDO shit is legally enforceable here, it's just put on the label to help justify an import price.

the meme viral pasta with baked feta cheese and cherry tomatoes is actually a solid recipe.
you basically place a block of feta in the middle of a baking dish, add cherry tomatoes, season with olive oil, salt, pepper and herbs (origano, basil and/or thyme) and then bake in the oven at about 200° C for 30-40 minutes.
at the end you crush and mix everything with a potato masher, and then use the sauce for pasta.

It has calories and nutrients.
The less actual benefits it gives to your body the better the Nutri-Score.

Most Amish restrictions aren't religious, they're philosophical.
They're usually about rejecting anything that isn't strictly functional.
If it isn't necessary for a "simple" agrarian lifestyle, they don't permit it.

Lidl / Aldi sell low tier feta. What you want is Epiros feta. It tastes richer and has more fruitiness and depth. Start by crumbling some over some good quality tomatoes with thinly sliced raw onions, cucumber and olives. Then try it with fresh figs. Try mixed with briefly cooked spinach that has had the water pressed out.
