I'm going to ask in this thread: what the fuck do chefs mean when they describe a "nutty flavor" to something that doesn't have nuts? I genuinely can not get my mind around it. I saw a video where a chef said that cooked butter had a nutty flavor (

I know what nuts taste like, I've had all kinds. I'm not taste blind. But I just can not taste nuts in food that doesn't have it.
Is this some hallucination we're all just supposed to accept is real to seem cultured?
