Where we celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Dark Phoenix Saga!
Comics in this thread:
>Giant-Size Dark Phoenix Saga
>Exceptional X-Men #10
>Magik #6
>Deadpool/Wolverine #6
>Phoenix #12
Hold on, did you change your costume back to your regular one between last special and now?
>>148785800I mean, I'm not really complaining. And technically the Timeslide teaser to this showed you wearing this costume.
>"...And there's no timeline where the X-Men leave Cyclops to die!"
Right...
>"It killed a planet. No, I killed..."
Don't worry, you don't have to mourn for the broccoli people.
Err...shouldn't you guys be teleported away by the Shi'ar by now?
>"...But girl, you're a Marvel."
Booooo
>Legion gets blocked from the WHR
This is the second time someone has tried accessing that place only to get blocked (by editorial).
>"Lilandra has requested that we assemble with her Imperial Guard on the Blue Area of the Moon."
Okay, we're rewriting and skipping a lot of stuff here.
So are you two not going to comment again on that the rest of the team is still dying out there?
>suddenly using your mutant powers again
wat
Of course it lasted less than two pages, because we still got 3 more specials to go.
We'll return to this in two weeks.
But before we continue to our next comic, we got another Revelations story. This story by Steve Foxe and Lucas Werneck is set right in the present (possibly before Phoenix #11). And yes, it's also here we see what the hell Brevoort's "Grand Unified Phoenix Theory" is.
Guess this is the reason why this retcon is covered in this special for Dark Phoenix Saga.
Feels a little weird to feature Young Jean and Rightclops there in this page all about their love for eachother? Could have just replaced it with a reference to Phoenix Resurrection instead.
I guess this story and the whole GUPT retcon can just be summarized with "Scott and Jean 4ever!!".
And now for Exceptional X-Men.
It's the last issue of the arc! Last time, the team fought Sinister and freed Axo in the process. But in order to defeat him, Emma decided to knock him out by borrowing from Axo's empathy powers and using it in her psychic attack against him. Unfortunately, while it did knock Sinister out, it also knocked Emma out as well!
Okay, so she has just been trapped in Sinister's mind. Hate when that happens.
Oh no, they released the beasts!
>"They're like...little Sabretooths?!"
Wait, so Sinister made them from the DNA of Creed?
Well, that nap didn't last long.
Wait, so the Sinister here was also a clone this whole time?
>>148964456Scott Summers is...Not Like Us???
Lockjaw!
Wait, when did Sinister kidnap Lockjaw?
Two weeks ago, Magik reconciled with her Darkchylde persona and Liminal was imprisoned again, but it came at the cost of Cal being used as a seal and Magik's relationship with Dani getting further strained. In this issue, we finally revisit Madelyne and Limbo!
This probably takes place at some point in the future when Adjectiveless X-Men starts acknowledging the events of this series (like featuring the new Darkchylde design).
So it was just some random imp that booby trapped the office.
>"My intel says they're creating a weapon to rival my Scythe of Sorrows or your Soulsword."Oh, so is this referencing this moment from last week's issue of Storm?
>>148883175
>"It was when I saw the Goblin Queen forge her Scythe of Sorrows that I had my epiphany."
You mean "the moment FBI teleported here and gave me the knowledge to create our own weapons".
>"Hmm, "Fallen Queen" is catchy. Maybe I can get the X-Men to start calling me that."
Ehh...
Well, the Limbo demons can ditch the "make our own cool weapons" plan now if Magik can just do that.
>"Behold, the Wraithsword."
Sadly, not as cool as the Soulsword.
>"Actually, I wouldn't mind being a more hands-on consultant."
Guess this is how we're going to see more of Limbo in this series without outright removing Maddie.
And now for Deadpool/Wolverine.
Also happening two weeks ago, Director Talyn of O*N*E decided that they should reverse engineer their sample of Legacy 2.0 that they acquired from Maverick to create a version of the virus they can control. Meanwhile, Logan ditched Wade after getting infected with Legacy 2.0 and joined up with Stryfe. But then, Stryfe revealed that he wasn't actually Stryfe...he's actually Apocalypse!?
But first, the truth about "Stryfe".
Well I guess this officially confirms that this is Apocalypse from Cable's future. Even though it doesn't really make sense since he died in AoCaP.
Cool plan and all, but when are the X-Men going to step in then?
Apocalypse is still disappoint in Maverick.
>>148964548Can't believe Dani took the precious shota away from her
Wait, why does SHIELD have a bunch DNA samples of mutants?
Suddenly, Fury Sr. (or an A.I. version of him)
>"We always knew he had accomplices. Four of them, we gathered."
Get it, because there are four horsemen?
...Or wait, if this is referencing the X-Cutioners, does that mean that there are two more X-Cutioners that we don't know about?
The helmet has been acquired!
Last issue, Jean finally met her long believed to be dead sister Sarah again, who revealed that she is a mutant and has been living in Greyhaven - a sanctuary in space which consists of mutants with latent powers. And in this issue we learn of the secret origin of Sarah Grey and how she exactly got here...
>>148964461>>148964456okay sure whatever
can we stop love triangle already, and move the fuck away from that?
So I guess Sarah is not an organic being?
Oh no, it's Cameron Hodge.
Yup, Jean only appeared for like 3 pages in this issue. Hopefully she'll be appearing in more next week as she faces her son.
Next week: X-Men #18, Weapon X-Men #5, Psylocke #8, Wolverine #10.
And that's it! If you liked these, support your LCS or whatever.
>>148964411>>148964414So who's actually dead in this timeline?
Also nice of Legion to not hit Logan in the dick.
>>148965145I guess it's all going to be written away that Jean resurrected everyone off-panel when she got blasted
>>148964623>>148964626>>148964629>>148964630I was going to point out that this could have been Apocalypse from Messiah War but Stryfe escaped from him in Vendetta
>they actually referenced the recent Bucky team-up in New Avengers #1
>>148964463This series will end with issue #13, if we're to believe the trade paperback solicits
>>148965332well yeah, why do you think they had a team up in the first place?
i hate kamala so much is unreal
>>148964418This power feels so wrong for Kamala. She's not supposed to do laser shit. I hate it.
>>148964525>LockjawI'm disappointed in you.
>>148964609Easily the best issue so far. And whatchu know, it's the one with minimum Cal and Liminal content. Still not a fan of the series, but if it were more like this I think I would be.
>>148965686Oh right, I confused Lockheed with Lockjaw again.
Guess that's what happens when your sleep schedule is all messed up.
>>148965679Get used to it. Marvel's finally erasing the last trace of her Inhuman roots in the name of synergy.
>But Tokon-That will likely be the last time her shapeshifting gets featured before synergy reaches her there as well.
>>148965739A lot of X-fags seem to hate kamala due to hard she is being pushed on them and given way more importance than any of the X-teens. Meanwhile in the MCU she has been flopping. Everyone seems to hate the hard light and the wank isn't helping it. I think the the comic side push is on its last legs. I mean the gave of up synergy avengers and thunderbolts.
>>148965758Marvel doesn't care. They just want Inhuman Kamala gone.
Thread is still up. Anyways, we finally got this confirmed:
>The five IMPERIAL WAR one-shots represent key chapters of the overarching IMPERIAL narrative and will each be co-written by event architect Jonathan Hickman. IMPERIAL WAR: EXILES by acclaimed writer Steve Foxe (DARK X-MEN) and superstar artist Francesco Manna (GIANT SIZE HOUSE OF M) will follow up on Professor X's departure from Earth as the X-Men's founder assembles a new team of heroes to protect his daughter, the recently deposed Empress Xandra.
>A coup at home has imperiled Shi'ar Majestrix Xandra, tearing her from the throne in IMPERIAL WAR: EXILES. Her only hope for survival lies in a mismatched group of renegades led by her father, Professor Charles Xavier, and her resurrected mother, Lilandra! But when faced with the awesome power of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, the only wayto surviveโฆ is to run!
>"Mutantkind has looked to the stars since the 1970s, so there was no way we could leave the X-crew out of the Imperial master plan," Foxe shared. "Watching Jonathan build this intergalactic conspiracy was its own storytelling masterclass, and he built launch pads for all of us to tell some of the biggest stories possible on this new cosmic stage."
>Regarding the team's roster, Foxe explained, "This is a crew of Exiles in the truest sense of the wordโa ragtag band of royals, aliens, scoundrels, robots, and furballs thrust together under dire circumstances. And at the heart of it allis a family weโve never really seen together in one place: Charles Xavier, Lilandra Neramani, and their daughter, Xandra. But make no mistakeโthis is a breakneck space-chase story first and foremost, and Francesco Manna is knocking it out of the galaxy. Which is good, because if these Exiles slow down for too longโฆ theyโll be exterminated!"

>>148966679I only care because Deathbird.
I saw the new Ultimate X-Men issue hasn't got a storytime thread yet, and I want to make one. Anything I should keep in mind, like what pages to spoiler, etc.? I'd be ripping images from ReadComcOnline anyway
>>148966846just download the cbr from your local piracy site and then spoiler the page(s) that you think would actually spoil you
>>148964384I wish the X-Office a very painful death
>>148966959how do I download cbr file from RCO again?
>>148967006RCO don't offer CBRs, go to the Win-O
>>148964251
>>148967016right, and then just convert them to jpegs online?
>>148964456>Scott got Madelyne and Emma, two of the most desirable women on the planet>Jean got Logan, infamous as the dwarf who never showersI mean if they're allowed under editorial scrutiny to have "other loves--true ones" then I really feel she should be allowed to do better.
>>148967111The Cbr contains all of the images when you open it, you don't need to convert anything other than for sizing purposes (but you only do that if the image is over 4 MBs)
>>148967147open it in what lmao, I'm genuinely clueless at this
>>148967337jesus christ man
>>148967337.cbrs are just renamed .rar files, use 7zip or something to extract the images
>>148967337ok here's a step-by-step idiot-proof guide
>0. Have WinRar>1. Download CBR/CBZ file>2. One the file is downloaded, right-click and select "Open", you will either see a list of JPG files or a folder that will contain a list of JPG files>3. Ctrl+A and drag the images into a folder of your choice, if done correctly you will have the images in your folder
>>148966679Steve Foxe is a dull writer, but it could have been worse, I'm surprised Mackay has time to do this Nova book what with him doing Avengers, X-men and Moon Knight
>>148967432>>148967437oh so that's the issue, I use Calibre for books so it kept opening CBZ files in the e-book viewer
Oh right, I almost forgot about this. We got a Mystique story from this year's Pride special by Wyatt Kennedy (who you may know for his soon to be adapted comic series Nights and his work on last year's Wedding Special) and Bayleigh Underwood.
And that's it. And would you look at that, it's not a prelude to an X-Book like the previous ones during Krakoa used to be.
>>148967004Brevoort and his cocksuckers needs to die in the LA riots where the marvel offices are.
>>148965787Turning her into a "paraguayan" green lantern wont work either.
>>148967690Brevoort lives and works in New York
>>148967748thanks for the update tom
>>148967690that's DC anon
>>148967820also nobody's died in the protests
>>148967730No, but Marvel themselves will be happy, and that's all that matters.
>>148964469A suit would fix most of his problems but that haircut needs to go.
>>148964531Axos just won some stock back after losing it all. Bronze is useful, a far ways out of her mugga moment intro. Melee is a drag on every panel she's in. But overall, maybe this ponderous self-indulgent book is finally starting to-
>IronheartPack it up, this book is dead.
>>148967863Aren't they still ongoing?
I don't pay attention to news fro america
>>148964357>Kamala's hand fucking explodes>>148964360>fine a page laterHer healing isn't that damn good. Not to mention these are the same writers that had her say she couldn't heal because it fucked up her powers.
>>148964351What a waste of good art.
>>148964376>>148964405>>148964411>>148964414>>148964422>blows up multiple planets >rips Gladiator to shreds>cuts through X-Men like a buzzsaw>jobs to Kamalaโs forcefieldsThe fuck?
>>148964384phenomenal artwork and the cringiest dialogue I've read in years. what a comic
>>148964469this is the closest we'll ever get to goth Emma and I'm here for it
>>148964489Very Dracula. I like it.
>>148964525the word goon makes me laugh reflexively at this point it's not even funny
>>148967124Madelyn is just another Jean so hardly count in fact shouldn't count he went with her because she looked like Jean first and foremost, and let's be honest Emma is a skank.
Man exceptional X-Men is just do shit all around huh, ugly ass art and just painfully mediocre writing.
>>148967554I donโt know how going all-in on mystique/destiny is supposed to impress readers after reading them directly contribute to krakoa ending.
>>148964588But Magik is supposed to have mental barrier that blocks away telepaths?
>>148968373this is some next level dogshit
>>148964384Lmao bye bye Carol
>>148969121It's more status quo reset since Destiny and Mystique were the few sane characters during the Krakoa era and them being one of the few Comicsgate approved gay couples
>>148964673We're never ever going to be rid of it.
>>148964384Trask was right. 1 trillion more dollars to Master Mold. Gas the muties.
>>148968373They trying to make people like the power by pretending it is OP. They did it in the 85th one shot and in mutant menace mini. Trying to sell it as an upgrade when all it is doing is making it another venom blast.
isn't there a new Ultimate X-Men today??
>>148971032Yes, but Ultimate Universe gets its own thread.
>>148971074>>148971085Whoops. I had 2 hours of sleep and my vision's fuckin' up again.
>>148964456>showing all three of Scott's other loversThat's a bold choice
>Jean considering herself humanEven bolder for a 2025 X-book, but a positive sign.
>>148964629>Even though it doesn't really make sense since he died in AoCaP.Well, they intended that he did, but even before that mini was published there was an early issue of Cable's solo book that said Apocalypse was still around further into Cable's future, when Nathan was an adult.
"Somehow, Apocalypse returned" isn't unusual by now.
>>148964388cool spaceships
Why is Kamala on everything, wtf?
Even when he's dead Magik keeps talking about that kid
>>148973102Because the kid isn't dead and Liminal is still a threat
>>148973155Can we forget Liminal? I want to forget Liminal.
>>148964350 (OP)>>148964384Fuck this. I hate this so much. Kamala should never have been part of this. What an absolute disaster & it makes me sad this happened to her. Fuck Marvel editors & MCU synergy
>>148969121Don't forget that basically in the end of the latest Mystique mini had her be basically crippled thanks to Destiny's machinations.
>>148973515Liminal and the kid are probably gonna fully merge and basically be like Magik is with Darkchild, then it'd be up in the air if they want to make him as just a potential ally for her in future stories or a love interest.
