Smiling Friends is the funniest shit on Cartoon Network in over a decade. Not to throw shade at shows like Yolo and etc. It is just that Smiling Friends has the teen demographic, which is what Cartoon Network NEEDS to pander to in order to stay relevant.

Toonami did the same in the 90s up until the mid-aughts. It was only when Cartoon Network Real became more of a thing to save money on show production. Adult Swim carried the network for years after Toonami was killed and needed NEW shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show and Steven Universe which are all dead shows.

All 3 of those shows just got revived and Adventure Time sadly never even died. It barely promoted its "series finale" that no one even remembers anymore before continuing with gay specials and a gay spinoff and now has 2 more spinoffs in production and a theatriclal movie with shitass sugar. Sadly AT is a full-on franchise brand now.
