Rightfully so. I still admire Titan A.E.'s ambition, but the characters felt a little flat and the energy lacking compared to other 2000s animated features. Shame that it led to Fox Animation shuttering.

I like both right now (was too stupid in the past and tried to pick one and shit on the other), and the production history was not anywhere near fair. Titan was made in 1 and a half years after Fox execs gotten too tired of people doing nothing but make concept art for 10 years. Planet got more time in the oven, and much more money.

At least Titan AE eventually got a full CD soundtrack, while Treasure Planet's CD is missing about 10 minutes of music.

Jews that actually play schizo race games hate east asians though, especially the Japanese, why do you think that until super recently they were treated as white every other month and fucked over for it, and now they're just regularly under attack for not being "diverse" enough despite having long standing limited intermingling with everyone from most of europe to even Brazil.

The real secret is that Racemixing is only a problem when it's a man of another ethnicity fucking your women and Jews know it due to having been cucked for thousands of years, hence why they're one of the only cultures that trace lineage matrilineally.

Everyone else understands this on an instinctive level, that the father's genetics are the ones that matter most, hence why literally every fucking society that has ever existed on any functional level has some taboo against it but is ambivalent at worst towards the opposite up until like the late victorian where social darwinism got mainstreamed.

If anyone has not read these, please do. Titan's story went through many revisions as it was moving closer to being finished. So the "adult" novelization is not the same story, and the comic made to promote the film has some serious inconsistencies. These 2 short prequels? Very respectful of the final movie, and both Cale and Akima (and Stith btw) are very in-character. YES, STITH FEATURED.

Nah, just more of Bad Bluth Luck. Aside from Banjo NIMH and Bartok, every one of his projects had something go wrong. And that's not even touching 4 back to back bad movies he directed in the 90s.

>>148986808
Not really, Fox WANTED the movie to be more edgy, to appeal to teenage boys. So no real censorship. As a matter of fact, the movie was animated OVERTIME, Don convinced them to let him add more minutes to the runtime. So he basically saved the movie by making it work at all.

Not really. I remember going to the cinema a few months before it was released and saw the trailer. The shot of the Earth blowing up affected me seriously, don't know why.

A year later, in High School, our physics teacher decided one day to put this movie on and it was... OK. Nothing out of the ordinary but it wasn't terrible as Quest for Camelot. It had fun scenes and, the characters are likeable.

It's not a masterpiece, but it's better than what Dreamworks was doing before Shrek and marginally worse than what Disney was doing in the same period of time (Treasure Planet/Atlantis).

Also, yeah, Akima's shower scene.

I fucking adore the idea of sci-fi settings in which Humanity are the scum of the galaxy that barely survive an inglorious existence on the fringe of galactic society, persisting only through the power of spite and stubborn determination. Wish there were more sci-fi stories about Humanity making a great exodus to establish on a new home on an alien world after losing Earth.

Well, outwards she's an athletic girl, which is my type to begin with, but moreover she has a cute face and a nice ass.
Looking deeper, I like her temperamental but kind nature. I feel like she's the type who comes off as gruff and temperamental, rude even - but once she gets to know you, and decides she likes you, she'd be that one friend who'd not hesitate to kill for you. As a lover, she'd be temperamental but so very passionate; dominant but would want someone who can dominate her, show her he is worthy. This is my headcanon and a reason why I'd love to see more canon info on her.
What we do have information on is that she's a trained combatant, smart and well read. Which are attractive qualities.

The fact is when you rewatch Disney rennaissance films, many of them aren't even well animated. Movies like Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast have worse animation and lower frame rates than even you average tv anime episode at the time had. DreamWorks 2d animation completely mogs those films, atleast in terms of purely technical animation. The Disney rennaissance was about the songs, stories and characters- the animation itself wasn't that good and if you rewatch scenes from them now you'll see what I mean.

Titan A.E. is a mediocre movie that doesn't compare to the 2D movies that Disney, DreamWorks and Warner Bros recently brought us at the time (Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Fantasia 2000, Prince of Egypt, Road to El Dorado, The Iron Giant). It also doesn't compare to the all-CGI movies from that era (Antz, Bug's Life, Toy Story 2) or the stop-motion movie that Aardman released a week later (Chicken Run)

If a student runs into trouble in every single class they take, or a worker gets fired from every single job they take, at a certain point you have to start asking yourself whether or not they're the common factor. If shit goes wrong with every single project a director works on, the director might be a *part* of the problem.

Don't get me wrong, Bluth is an amazing and ambitious animator and I love a lot of his films... but after everything I've been able to research on his career, I'm not convinced he was all that good of a director.

With that out of the way, I did say 3 of his projects went right. Banjo, NIMH and Bartok, went VERY well.

I'm not talking about fucking "cursed production" type shit like murders and suicides, I mean regular things going wrong with a film - unpolished scriptwriting, bad pacing/editing, going overbudget, falling behind schedule, etc.

This is a mild derailment, and mild whataboutism, but a lot of movies currently considered good went over budget. Like the first 3 Star Wars movies.

Anon, stop thinking like a robot (executive). I meant artistically. Those 3 movies were the only ones when the end result was almost entirely, or entirely, what Don wanted to make. Of course American Tail, Land Before Time and Anastasia made a lot of money. This is not about money.

I guess responding with whataboutism to whataboutism is fair. Still you don't know shit if you think going overbudget meant anything, when it is very common in production of great movies.
