That doesn't excuse the constant revivals and nostalgiabaiting. New ideas can sell if you market them well and put your faith in them, instead of cancelling them every time they're not the biggest thing ever. Imagine cancelling the simpsons and venture bros just because the first season isn't the greatest thing ever. Studios used to support ideas for a time to see if the public would come, even if their first go didn't have great results. But now you have to be a stranger things level hit to have the right to exist, which is so boring and lame.
And it doesn't have to be this way, execs can take a risk and it wouldn't even affect them that much financially. Even if they make a bunch of kino originals that dont sell its not really gonna bankrupt them, they just wont be able to afford a fifth yacht they don't need. What it would do is elevate the worldwide interest in the company and its reputation, leading to better and more popular projects down the line. Instead they are stuck in the same goddamn lineup they had back in 2016. Zero evolution.
