This. It's also wild that Powerpuff Girls never appeared on it despite being something that is still very popular.

CN's treatment of PPG has been so fucking weird lately. They are insistent on keeping that brand separated from their other classics. PPGs never appear on those "Cartoon Network" t shirts they sell with all the other classic characters, they don't get to be on Checkered Past, my only guess it that it's because they see it as a fresh merchandising brand and don't want it to seem "old". Even though it is.

By this time in 2025, most males born between the years 1985 and 2000 have already rewatched all of their childhood series at least once. the super fans multiple times, already, and without the help of cable television of payed streaming services.
The nostalgia well went dry, and it's just taking time for everyone to figure that out. Everyone interested in rewatching dexter's lab has the whole series on their computer.
The market is ready for new, good, original content.

They tried to make ppg for girls because it's their only feminist feather in their cap. They get to say
>We made a super hero shoe starring strong female characters that was super popular many years before it became mandatory.
They'd like their extra points, but to do it they have to cultivate a new identity for ppg. because, the original was NOT a girl's show. The girls being gugu eyed lollipop children was an ironic joke, because then they'd beat the shit out of criminals and it was nearly as graphic as invincible.

So how'd this go so bad? For a while it seemed like the block was doing well and was encroaching on regular Cartoon Network scheduling hours even. Now it's down to only an hour or two a day and it's apparently about to die? What the hell happened? It seemed like initially they had some variety and then it's only Courage and Eds.

More wacky cartoon erasure, kids these days arenโ€™t gonna know what a real cartoon looks like unless they watch modern SB or The Patrick Star Show, all other shit on the childrenโ€™s telly is either beanmouth junk or safe wacky garbage like Super Duper Bunny League, it sucks really.

Possibly. But it seems they dont even care about CN proper since kids have dropped cable, hard, in the last decade. I believe it'll become a 24/7 adult swim channel before the end of the decade where it'll air stuff like Robot Chicken, Primal and other TVMA shows at 3PM uncensored. If they decide the need to air anything for a younger audience it'll be shoved to Boomerang instead with little to no fanfare.

It was a fun novelty and I appreciate it, but damn the lack of variety. I get limiting to stuff they were fine shoving onto the adult swim brand since there were logistics involved, but seriously no Robot Jones? Don't tell me they ever planned to do something with that to keep it under the CN label (like needing that for it to potentially air on boomerang or such)

At least it's probably ending on a decent note with semi-recent memories of what a cartoon shorts and pilots, some even seemed remastered (the 2 cavemen with the sideshow bob guy was like super HD). Compare that to TeenNick silently airing iCarly one night in place of 90s are all that and giving no comment.

I guess the CEO wasn't lying when she said that Adult Swim originals did poorly in Latinamerica so they wanted to focus more on anime last week, I noticed that the channel has plenty of bumpers shitting on live action over and over so I did some research and found a interview where the ones in charge of the channel claim that back when Adult Swim was on the I-Sat channel in Latam they aired the live action shows and they performed worse than anything they aired previously, so they basically banned live action shows from this channel forever as a result (thank fuck)

Cartoon Network isn't getting it's 5pm slot back, the only reason they air Adult Swim from 5pm to 6am now is because it does WAY better in terms of ratings than regular Cartoon Network
Adult Swim (#47; 210,000; -3%)
Nick At Nite (#48; 208,000; -15%)
FXX (#66; 145,000; -29%)
Nickelodeon (#73; 131,000; -31%)
Disney Channel (#80; 110,000; -17%)
Disney Jr. (#93; 84,000; -37%)
Cartoon Network (74,000)
Nick Jr. (#102; 68,000; -39%)
Nicktoons (#112; 51,000; -12%)
Boomerang (#124; 34,000; -17%)
TeenNick (#133; 24,000; -53%)
Plus they can use AS to advertise more stuff than regular CN as well

I liked The Brak Show, a shame it was the first Adult Swim show to be cancelled, at least it got 28 episodes which is more than what Ballmastrz: 9009 got

More like foreign TV networks are willing to put up the extra money.

But since MeTV Toons is getting over 20 million views per show they can now afford those other Spielberg cartoons.

>only airs 4 shows for its entire run
At that point, they could just air the shows and create fun bumpers for them occasionally. They don't need a block for 4 old reruns.

That said, I do think they should pivot the channels aesthetic to some trippy, nostalgic thing like the Checkered Past bumpers. And they should try to make new shows in the style of 90s cartoons in the same way people make new games in the style of PS1 or other Retro games.

Recently I noticed that when you try to abbreviate some channels and companies
>Cartoon Network to CN
>Nickelodeon to Nick
>Adult Swim to AS
and
>Warner Brothers to WB
your post would sometimes be seem as spam, what's up with that?
