I have never understood the obsession with this show. Omniverse had a good art style and I remember it being the only good morning cartoons before I went to school, but just watch anime at this point. That's what they want, clearly. I grew up with original Ben 10 and I really didn't get the hype when you had better shows in this style airing on Toonami.

Genuinely it feels like people are too hard on Omniverse. It absolutely has problems sure, and if you can't get used to the artstyle change that's fine.
But I think the actual problem of Omniverse was network handling and when it released. I never watched it on TV initially because I had stopped watching TV in general after getting a computer, and I think that was becoming the norm in the 2010s. Poor scheduling of episode releases also hurt it, like how Feedback's return was spoiled by an episode that was shown before the actual finale where he came back.

I know people are loathe to have actual discussion and not just throw around buzzwords, but it would be nice to actually talk about this stuff. I just can't see OV as any sort of significantly worse than any of the other series when all of them have their own flaws.

I can understand that perspective. I think OV has plenty of it's own serious, effective moments. But AF and OV are two pretty contrasting tones.
AF is very overtly serious and there's not really that much levity. Usually it's relegated to a Kevin quip. Whereas OV is overtly comedic throughout with smaller moments of seriousness here and there, usually in finales.

Overall I think it's a matter of preference and to what things you like and dislike more. More things about AF, especially after Season 2, bother me more than OV. And I think part of it is because it's serious tone makes it's flaws feel more loud and noticeable.

Ultimate Alien tried making Ben more like a kid again, but he became too immature. Similarly, they also overcorrected on Kevin's character and design.
Omniverse salvaged the better aspects of Ultimate Alien, then coated it in the paint of OS.
