Messageboards probably. There were plenty of blogs about whatever topic hosted in Angelfire and Geocities. Some of the oldest webcomics started around this time.

Newgrounds has been around since 1995, though I think they only took off till the 00s.

there weren't a ton of them. he mostly used BBS boards. and, as we saw, he kept them written down in a notebook, which is fucking adorable. I still have a notepad somewhere with my Furcadia friends on it, before they had a built-in thing for that.

That had been out for exactly one month when Freakazoid debuted... and given that the origin story takes place before the first episode...
Naw I think we're talking OLD old internet. we see he's using a DOS interface. he's literally accessing text files. like "Alt.BBS.star.trek.fans need know shatner hair, wig or just weave?"

bro ebaum was like 6 in 1995.
I don't think a lot of you realize how early 1995 was for the internet. A lot of what we consider "old internet" started around 96-2000. Freakazoid was like the last vestige of the old-old internet, before it started becoming more common(but not as common as it'd become, of course)

the villain would be some weenie who got too into woodworking and wants to make a chair so comfortable that you can never get out of it, then trick celebrities to sit on it so he can ransom them.
calls himself the logfondler or something equality lame.

because freekazoid wasn't about the internet you zoomer.

i also almost described an episode of freekazoid where they kidnap a wood block to carve a perfect horn to fracture time or someshit, but freekazoid calls the ghost guy a weenie and he gets so mad he breaks the horn.

That started after Freakazoid's frst season; same for Albinoblacksheep.

Back when the show actually started, it'd probably have been things like Cool Site of the Day, Horror.com, Wired.com, or SNPP if he used websites at all. BBS or Usenet would have been more likely.

there was a period in the early 00s where like every other STEM graduate was also making a profitable webcomic and also contributing to green activism or hacktivism and also good friends with some upcoming indie band. i was just barely too young to be part of it, but i wish i could go back.

Maybe he was playing the Discworld MUD? That's been around since 1993, if I recall correctly. Man, I remember back when I first got into MUDs around 2002, and I was so bitter that I had missed the heyday of text-based games, just because I wasn't born into an English-speaking country.
