Look, there's already tech that suppresses their powers, just put that in something that wouldn't get funny looks and slap an on/off switch on it. Then Rouge can still turn off the death touch when she wants to get groiny with Gambit without having to give up her powers for good. The problem is that mutants are fucking drama addicts who would rather complain about their problems than solve them.
