Any head canons as to what the kids would be like as adults? The only ones I have is
>pliny would be the shortest of them all, and would take the most after lullah
>francis is the tallest at 6 ft
didn't they cancel this show
>>149006046Technically they just halted production on season 2 but I think most people accept itโs its canned
The only place the show managed to gain any notoriety is Germany for some reason
>>149004891 (OP)Thanks, the kelpies sound cute as expected.
>>149004891 (OP)Thanks anon
It's sad that StuGo got shafted but at least we can get this
>>149007320Bro? Itโs just goofy little ai voice shits
>>149007178Man seeing all the anons leave what once was lively, genuinely great threads is probably what Iโm gonna miss most about this show
>>149006046Production halted and will resume production depending on the Disney+ views. Owlphibia's report about deciced to add "it won't return for a second season" and people ran with that (heard the guy that runs that account hates the show anyways)
During that time Ryan Gillis thanked everyone with a "Thanks to everyone whoโs been enjoying the show!" so it's clear that he's still working on the show.

>>149004891 (OP)Why would japs watch this brown slop when they have thousands of anime to choose from
>>149008265You act like most Japanese anime arenโt seasonal slop with like 1 good show every 2 to 4 months
This is me being charitable lol
>>149008265Name one good anime from the past season, come on im waiting
>>149008577There are good anime occasionally, but like most of the time itโs yet another school slice of life, yet another failed attempt at making the next big shoanan, the 6353635253213675632th isaki etc etc
Granted anime fuckers have a RICHHHHHHHHH history to enjoy but still
>>149008205Honestly what's stopping Disney+ from appying the weekly "Next Day" release for Disney Channel content like Hulu does with FX and FOX shows?
Many shows won't have to suffer this bullcrap if they did that, one of their newest live action sitcoms is having the same fate as StuGo by premiering on July but dropping on Disney+ in September

>>149006039wouldn't she be a lot taller at 12 if she's gonna make it that far?
>>149006046they, in fact, announced a season 2
then they sorta un-announced it but only to the staff, so.. shrug!
>>149008664they found a way to take the situation they ruined and make it worse
anyway I'm glad we have a stugo thread. i weirdly don't feel motivated to rewatch it unless you guys are here for me to point out shit i notice.
>>149008896I low key just see her as an absolute womenlet
Also no other ideas for the rest of the cast?
>>149007550Yeah these threads are generally laid back and comfy
>>149009023i hadn't had any specific thoughts about their adult selves because it seems kind of obvious
>>149008906Yeah me too, i love my failure girl
>>149006039Pliny likely would be like Lullah, a crazy scientist who scams some kids to work free on her lab
>>149009328Eh the only clear cut one is Marian
>>149008367Atill more than /co/ where you get one good show per year(if I am reasonable)
>>149008577Orb and the new mononoke.
fuckit rewatchin time. diorama drama go.
>Gotta love that Lullah ALREADY needs a break from the kids in the third half-episode. >And for a second, you think Mr. OK is elevating Merian's title, til you hear it was HIS title, so
>Francis swaps out Chip's straw for her own when she sips from the juicebox he claims to be too afraid to taste. honey he didn't taste it, he just put a straw in it.. you're not gonna catch his germs.
>The robo vac was definitely trying to hump Merian's leg
>Lullah's drink dispenser machine has a hilariously wonky and zigzaggy layout, given that it still has normal horizontal rows inside
>Francis is a landing-ninja
>I really hope we get to see all the rest of these monsters
>the diorama thing seems to take a moment to quickly top-to-bottom scan the monsters as they're added. even when one is turned on its side, up is still up. And when taken out, the same top-to-bottom energy flow happens
>Pliny is so supportive of Francis wanting to play with an eraser
>The area of distance when you just stick your hand in it, to generate a big giant hand poking out of a pink portal, seems to be random
>Somehow the field works both ways, so the things you placed on the island can resist being taken back, suggesting this is literally a visualizer of a portal that scales things up
When this first aired, I felt like this was implausibly high tech, and now it makes a little more sense, but still feels weird. Just weird in a way that they put thought behind it.
and I appreciate this not being a cliche drama episode about someone getting mad over a promise-made-in-haste being broken in the moment.
>Fucking WEIRD that the pteranodon is as big as any of the huge monsters, but when it breaks in through the window, it's small enough to fit in the field, and then MAKE a giant version of itself. which is still smaller than Pliny when she goes through to giantify. What would happen if you reached into the window of the little miniature lab in the center?
>>149010221at least they kept the logic consistent. Merian has to suck up the MINIATURE pteranodon to solve this.
>>149008664Disney still values Disney premier and rerun numbers? That's my guess on things. Dumping everything at once can really kill the potential of those, seemingly seen with how Moon Girl went, and it seems like Disney is aware of that much at least and is probably why they drip feed Disney Plus uploads for shows they bank on doing well on Disney Channel like Big City Greens and Kiff. That this show got similar treatment as those two is strange though.
>>149010637i'm all for letting tv have a chance before streaming eats it all, but this is far, FAR too long a wait
I think a week is about right.
>>149011161It really all depends on the show for Disney I guess. Kiff for one still hasn't had a single of it's second season episodes put on Plus yet. They must really value the rerun thing otherwise I can't see why they would make it wait so damn long.
>>149009392I like how hard she went for her goofy hair cut painting.
>>149012311disney was the first to make high quality tv animation profitable by selling syndication packages.. which is silly because who other than disney would ever run disney shows
>>149010221Lullah was not at all cut out for the job of mentoring kids.
okay, Goat Racket.
>Chip is jealous of how weird mutants are and insists he's weirder
>Larry actually tuckers out here first, a real contrast to his desire to stay up all night later
>I think the girls were a little hypocritical here, awwing at Larry but denying Chip's idea to swaddle him. Fucker needs a good swaddlin'. At least they appreciated Chip guinea-piggin'-it and saving them the need to test stuff (even if they were gonna enjoy that. the dorks)
>Not only does Larry not learn from Pliny's mistake accidentally inhaling the beans, but he doesn't manage to blow his back out like Pliny did. and neither did Merian. HONESTLY. These kids.
>Larry is helping Sara with her scheme at a time when it has definitely not started yet (they literally came straight from the beans to here). That early affection was genuine, he joined her willingly and given her beans before there even was a plan.
>I still can't believe they beanboozled us with that mirror shot. In retrospect it's obvious. the movements are mismatched, and she starts talking about her parents. Parents who apparently taught her how to lie
>"The only way to fix a lie is with an even bigger lie" see we didn't know her that well yet, we had no idea that the 'even bigger lie' is the false flag of making a second, fake, obvious scheme as a distraction. and 'the scam of friendship' fits with the twist too.
>Sara going out one door and coming in the other makes more sense now
>it's cute how they all admired her dumb goat act. also her hair looked really nice all messy.
>Sarah is strong enough to punch clean through wood.
>We don't actually see a goat attack anyone despite all the foley, and Francis's insistence that her teeth were kicked. Very nice.Though it is amazing the goats put up with this pro wrestling shit.
>Also Sara can throw a goat really, really far. Even if that was a dummy goat, holy shit
>Not only are Sara and Larry really obvious in their last 'show', they both immediately look at the others' reaction
>>149004891 (OP)Show got featured for a brief second on the trailer promoting Disney Channel's new Youtube Channel dedicated to animation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2r_yDGygmQ
>>149013501Getting some notice is appreciated. Had no idea Disney picked up Beyblade and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Keep stuin' gos, you stuguys.
>>149013518Drawing of this with Sara when?
>>149008658Most of everything is bad. Yet there are still anime to enjoy and look forward to unlike with western cartoons.
>>149020704Agreed but thatโs mostly thanks for retard corporate decisions, you know like taking your channel thatโs renowned for its creativity and cross generational appeal and going full in on literal toddler slop
Or using perfectly popular shows as a tax write off because the debt you had, only to find yourself in more debt because you BTFOโd away most of the reasons people that people had to sign on your streaming service
I can go on and onโฆ and on but you get my point
>>149019761She fits the theme of Eddy well, but the glasses thing feels more Pliny.
>>149019761We don't really get many Sara fans.
>>149020704new anime is getting better in a lot of ways, but it's also incredibly by the numbers and rigidly generic now. as much so as like, western shows in the 60s where you either fit the genre or you get the fuck out. these are the costumes the lot has: cowboy, army, gangster. Pick something.
>>149020766seriously. fire all executives. i would never spend time with an executive unless it was like jesus with the hoes. like i love you but you gotta change.
I want Chip as a little brother
>>149024087Imagine being a Cartoon Network fan and watching the network die in real time literally due to retard corporatism despite the network being MORE then fine before hand
>>149025022i mean, you're calling it retard corporatism because a corporation is doing it
when everyone else does the same thing, you just call it retardation. and when a corporation does it right (y'know, in the past) you don't call it anything.
but yeah, CN has joined Nick in terms of "we had a fantastic era and we squandered and ruined it"
actually twice over, because CN was also the king of the late 90s early 00s.
>>149004891 (OP)Thanks as always. It's appreciated getting to rewatch the show in an alternative language.
>>149008367>>149008577Yeah but atleast they look bearable, this show looks like complete poopoo
Even westaboos won't watch it
>>149025858I'm definitely gonna do that once I have finished rewatching in english
>>149025257In terms of pure cultural relevancy, the other shows had their kings (*leans over to the s p o n g e*) but on a show per show count CN really has the most culturally lingering shows of all time
Also Iโm calling it corporatism because half of it is a retarded merger and the other half is the network higher ups milking TTG and hard pivoting to babu slop despite being iconic for cross generational cartoons
The spirit of the channel lives on in adult swim at least
>>149026808i love that you think spongebob is the king of nickelodeon. you're as sad as their executives
no, Nick's domain was the first half of the 90s. they rocked it, they ruled it. They didn't have ninja turtles OR power rangers, but they basically ate the entire rest of the time you weren't watching fox.
>adult swimyeah and i'm glad toonami is back, even though.. yknow, licensing. kinda fucked it.
>>149023744>Sara fanswe don't take kindly to your kind around here
>>149027705Sara's got her own special charm
being the worst stugo is like being the least talented beatle.
>>149028354elizardbeth is adorable, and another sign that these guys really know and love animals.
look at those chameleon-style cone eyes
>>149004891 (OP)Any other dubs besides the Japanese one?
New concept art dropped
https://www.instagram.com/p/DKfwze9ymhb/
>>149028815Completely forgot about Chip throwing the first omelet at Merian.
>>149028777jeez, JN, you couldn't have nudged it up a little so it's not overlapping the bar? or is this the intended placement _on the tv screen_ in the scene
>>149029150>intended placementYeah, I think that was what it was looking back on the finished scene.
>>149029285alright, you win again, things-pros-do-that-i-don't
I've finally, after 25 years of digital art, started using vector lines and coloring under them. because i didn't know vector lines can still have pixels, or that it disables fillbucket on that layer despite it having pixels
>>149028908And it was hot, that shit most have hurt and she has the right to be pissed
>>149004891 (OP)>Kelper Warrior Japanese Voice Ufff
Hope Zora's voice is the same actress that playa Mirko in MHA
>>149029584She has the perfect little gremlin voice. Love it. I don't know what they'll do for Zora but they nailed the Kelp warriors.
>>149024087Like I said, most of them are generic(everything is like that) but there are still interesting shows/movies to look forward to. Meanwhile cartoons have just given up.
>>149029763iunno, there's still cartoons trying.
you seen this Goat Girl thing that's comin out? so far i'm likin it.
>>149008205>(heard the guy that runs that account hates the show anyways)He hates anything that it's not Primos or Amphibia.
Honestly, I don't feel bad for Primos cancellation because of him.
To be honest, I don't think Stugo has a chance, specially for the meltdown that Katie Gee got.
Also Max said that the marketing plan for Stugo was deleted almost recently.
>>149029891>iunno, there's still cartoons trying.Very few of them compared to the 00s.
>you seen this Goat Girl thing that's comin out? Not yet. I will check it our later.
>>149029918>compared to the 00sthe.. literal worst time in animation since the 70s?
>check it outI didn't save the link to the pilot, but that should be somewhere or other in the archive.. https://granny.freefilehosting.online/uploads/e592036964af8c51/Goat%20Girl%20Episodes here's several other episodes at least
>>149029912where is this coming from? it doesn't make any sense
>>149029935>the.. literal worst time in animation since the 70s?How is the worst when there a plethora of new cartoons with different art styles and aesthetics?
>https://granny.freefilehosting.online/uploads/e592036964af8c51/Goat%20Girl%20Episodes here's several other episodes at leastK, thanks.
>>149029953you think the 00s had a plethora of new art styles and aesthetics
I mean there were little high points, but it started off with "shows from the late 90s that we've brought back without their creators" and slid right into "no budget rigged-flash-doll mindless pablum" and on the way skidded past shit like My Gym Partner is a Monkey and several iterations of Ben 10. It was not a good time compared to the 90s, 10s, or the second half of the 80s. the only thing worse might be the 20s, but it's too soon to say.
>>149029935Never mind, It was the Primos marketing but still they are sure that it's not happening, even CalamityPan.
>>149029978Not surprising. StuGo seems to still show up in commercials on Disney Channel but that other show hasn't in a long while. I still imagine it'll be a miracle if StuGo gets a second season but I guess there's always a chance with it hitting Disney Plus soon.
>>149028563No. Because I donโt have access to Disney+ and it not available to launch in Vietnam.
>>149028563I only found out that Japanese is it was the better dub than other international dub.
>>149018546They make for a great totem pole I give em that.
>>149030766she's so fucking cute I could die
>>149030854Same, she's so adorkabke, only char that even comes close is Francis, and even then it's mostly a mood thing.
>>149030854She really is. Can't remember the last time I fell for a character as hard as I did for her. She's so much fun.
>>149013501>Tangled got featuredNice to know that this show is still somehow liked it
>>149032599Tangled shows up a surprising amount in Disney animation things. It's even one of the few shows they let you watch on demand on cable.
Trailer for Disney+ release, yeah it's clear they want this to be a sucess, why would they do that with a show they just canceled
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMUbOBpU6CE
>>149033339An actual Disney Plus release trailer. Well that's not something they do every day. And a confirmed date too.
>>149033339Press Release
>Wild and comedic adventures will capture the cartoony heart of summer on Disney+ next month, when a fresh season of Kiff and the new Disney Channel original StuGo make their debuts on the platform! New trailers have been released to usher in the seasonal launches.>StuGo will premiere on Disney+ July 30. The series debuted in January on Disney Channel and is inspired by creator Ryan Gillisโ (The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse) childhood surrounded by the rich wildlife and vibrant energy of southern Florida. The series follows six middle schoolers who get tricked into attending a fake academic summer camp by a mad scientist. What started as three months of learning transforms into an adventure of a lifetime on a tropical island filled with mind-reading manatees, giant fighting fungi and fashion-forward mutants.https://www.animationmagazine.net/2025/06/kiff-s2-stugo-brings-summer-fun-to-disney-in-july/
>>149034225>giant fighting fungiSeems it's just the old blurb, which itself seems to pull from the sizzle reel given we never saw those in the final product.
>>149034298It is odd how often that one line gets brought up on these. Seems like it must have been a planned part long into production.
>>149030918>>149031239I need to draw both of them..
>>149034225this is not the blurb they should have gone with..
they need to listen to feedback, see why people didn't watch it, and make it clear A) this is not some goofy baby silly shit and B) the humor is really really funny and smart, so please forgive the weird art. once you watch it for a while, you start to love it
kinda weirdly reminds me of Grimsburg, where on the surface it's just more weird quirky family guy adjacent shit, but then you look at some of the face angles, the eye placements, the expressions particularly on the caped kid... and then you take an even closer look and realize this is deliberately subverting other western animated sitcoms who all have stubby legged people, by giving everyone super long legs. this is totally deliberate.
>>149035218Would be curious to see what you come up with, drawfren
>>149035716well when I have that free time again, show me this art again and I'm gonna try to emulate it, because I can't imagine doing them better than this
>>149033339While I like her, I am a little surprised by how much they use Lullah in these. Didn't think she'd be viewed as a draw from the marketing team.
Titmouse shares the news, they mention that "after having a strong @disneychannel
first season run"
https://x.com/TitmouseInc/status/1934745339699056902
>>149037897i used to be a little annoyed she was fat and ugly and not very fun to look at, unlike, say, Dr. Wakefield. But now I'm realizing a dumpy fat wrinkly middle-aged scientist with a pompadour actually makes what she does a lot funnier. She's an absolute mess and knows it. But she wears cool shades, so
