Why do you like this show as an adult? Every character is an asshole and there are no good role models

Because it's funny, stop being a little bitch about it and go back to your girly horse show

Opposite for me, I loved Family Guy as a dumb 12 year old in the mid 2000s, but outgrew it after high school.

The reason Cleveland was a better show was because compared to the Griffins, Clevenand's family was relativelly normal and relatable. I feel that in Family Guy, whenever they aren't acting like a normal family, or it's an episode about Brian an Griffin (because they actually put effort into writing those), it's just how South Park depicted Family Guy years ago. A random string of garbage jokes that at best are annoying, at worst will make you close the tab.

I watched the first two seasons because they were less than 20 bucks at WalMart and entertainment was a lot more limited at the time (early 00s). I never felt the need to watch any more of it, though.

You're not missing much but there's some funny shock humour here and there, like when Quagmire and the Dog (Brian) create a seasonal long feud because the Brian fucks his transexual father. Brian tries to reconciliate with him many times and never succeds/ends up making things worse. But also you know he's just a fucking dog so multiple times it's appearant that their feud isn't even that serious and Quagmire will only be mad at him because he shits in his yard or mad because he prefers cats better. There some really good episodes, like the one where they go inside a simulation created by the baby (Stewie) to teach Brian a lesson.

All I can say is that this shit is at very least not as boring as The Simpsons.

Wait, did Brian's feud with Quagmire began with the dinner scene or with Brian's fucking Quagmire's dad?

That's true. Where are those good old fashioned values on which we used to rely?

It's the fast food of comedy. Most of the time it isn't that good, but it's not offensively bad like other shit and I just need something to listen to, so why not? I don't care about the finer details, I'm just watching for jokes.

it's comfy and easy watching but since (or just before) the disney buyout they've lost their edge and has been in zombie / autopilot mode

The ongoing feud between Brian and Quagmire is probably the sole notable thing about Family Guy's HD seasons onward.

> no good role models
What kind of adult needs a cartoon role model? Either you’re developed enough at this point to recognize its pretend or you’re so stunted no message is going to affect you.
