Eda's teen angst against school and covens is made deeper by the interactions with Raine, and it's justified because the two clearly have feelings for each other and enjoy each other's company. It's not like they didn't want to be with each other... Eda was turning into a freakish owl monster and felt like nobody could ever love her because the system she lived under didn't want her. Her insecurities pushed a lot of people away and she ended up doubling down on her rebellion specifically to cope with her feelings of loneliness. Raine enabled her because he fucking loved her and tried to do everything he can to keep her safe from Belos's goon squads while remaining undercover and pretending to drink the kool-aid which brainwashes him. If anything you're double no, triple retarded because you think that Eda latching onto raine isn't part of the arc of her character where her deep rooted feelings of loneliness are confronted. If he loved her so much why didn't he showed up with his rebels to Eda, Lilith, and Luz's execution?

The problem with Eda latching onto Raine because Luz and King might leave her one day goes against her own character development. She didn't even see King as a son until Luz came and showed her it was okay to get close to people, even if hurt her. Her leaving to go off and potentially die in a fight against Belos is stupid because that would mean leaving Luz and King stranded in the Isles with Belos' forces.
Plus, Eda clearly didn't give a fuck about Belos even when his system tore her and Lilith apart and after he tried to kill her entire family. She only fought him because of Raine.
