What age did you stop seeing cartoons with rose-covered glasses?
When you see people nostalgic for a cartoon and think "I'm a little too old for that", where you do stop?

There are genres and intended audiences you grow out of, but I still love cartoons. I just view them through a different lens now. Animation is a mefium, not a genre.

I stopped watching new cartoons in the mid 90s when I became a teenager. I got back into them with a more nostalgic viewpoint many years later. Though I still only watch older stuff.

I didn't really get more into cartoons until early adulthood around 18-19. It's more so "fandom" that makes me feel "I'm a little too old for that".
>people who engage in fandom are now much younger than me
>quality of new content is declining
>people being more obsessed with the various fandom aspects rather than the source material.

I'm just too old for all of it. I still enjoy cartoons, and I still like making fan content, but I'll keep it to myself, or share with a close friend. Online communities suck.

I'm still nostalgic for a few things but when I actually rewatch some of that Saturday morning slop I stop and think, "Was kid me really that desperate to watch this boring unfunny junk?" Not all shows were bad, but some are just forgettable blandness and/or they went on way too long and stopped making sense.
