Part of the problem is that from the start, Nick aired it at crappy timeslots. They should've premiered it at 10AM rather than 6AM and promoted it

Same can be said for just about every new Nicktoon post-2003. El Tigre's treatment hurts just a little more because I hold the creators in very high regard. They keep getting tossed around by different studios so carelessly, most recently Netflix.

Absolutely. One of the biggest problems Nick had was that they never gave any of their shows time to grow. Had SpongeBob came out in a post-SpongeBob era it would've died as well.

That being said, coming up with the idea of the season finale hinge on a vote for the ending was a great call, because the show's originally planned ending sucked ass.

Manny would've betrayed both his father and grandfather by leaving them imprisoned so he can rule the world with Frida. He forgets about them for decades and only remembers to free them after he's old and tired, and then aliens invade and they all have to fight them off. The execs REALLY didn't like the ending, but rather than scrapping it entirely, they decided to compromise by having the crew make a good ending, while the viewers decide which one is canon though a vote. The good ending ended up winning and is the official one.
