Marvel splits Spider-Man into two: one on Earth, one in space, starting September 2025 in Amazing Spider-Man.
Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, and John Romita Jr. lead a new era exploring Street Spidey and Cosmic Spidey adventures.
Spidey’s cosmic journey introduces a new character, Symbie, plus fresh threats and intergalactic companions. Larraz handles cosmic issues, Romita Jr. takes Earthbound stories, for a double track Spidey saga into 2026.
Starting in September, Amazing Spider-Man by Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr. kicks off a long-term era starring two Spideys, one Earthbound and one galaxy-faring. So we have two Spider-Men going forward into 2026, Street Spidey and Cosmic Spidey. Well, when Jonathan Hickman calls (maybe)…

SPIDEY GOES COSMIC!
A tale of two Spider-Men…One Spider-Man swings around New York City meting out justice in an unfriendly matter. Another Spider-Man is found in a distant solar system running with strange companions, including a stranger named SYMBIE making his first appearance! The next major chapter in Spider-Man's life begins here!
"Since launching earlier this year, Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr.'s new run of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN has been embraced by the industry and fans alike, hailed for its stellar artwork and classic—yet fresh—take on Spidey storytelling! It's only the beginning of what's shaping up to one of the most acclaimed Spidey runs in recent memory, and a major turning point is on the horizon that will take the title into a direction no one saw coming… This September, there are TWO SPIDER-MEN—one on Earth, and one in SPACE! This exciting new era kicks off in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #11, the landmark 975th issue!
Following Spider-Man's shocking showdown with new supervillain Hellgate in Amazing Spider-Man #8, something strange has happened to Peter! Now, there are two Spider-Men, but which is Peter Parker?! BOTH Previously teased in a promotional artwork by Pepe Larraz, Spider-Man will debut a new cosmic suit as he makes his way home, getting tied up in cosmic adventures and gaining new intergalactic companions—and enemies—along the way! And that's not all! Back on Earth, Spider-Man is acting different, and his brutal methods will put the entire Marvel Universe on high alert! From then on, the run will follow both Spider-Men with Larraz taking lead art duties on space-set issues and Romita Jr. drawing Spider-Man's adventures back on Earth."
"I love really grounded, Manhattan based Spider-Man stories, and I also love when he's in 'fish-out-of-water' mode. You don't get much farther from the pond than deep space. But why choose? Why not have… both? Hence, this Tale of Two Spider-Men," Kelly shared. "On either track, Spider-Man is facing down his personal demons in the wake of Hellgate's brutal debut, because no matter where Spider-Man goes he brings inner turmoil with him. There are a lot of pyrotechnics in this arc, new characters and threats, but also a ton of heart as Peter and those closest to him try to move forward with their lives in the aftermath of a devastating event."
Covers include Pepe Larraz's Promo Variant Cover that provides the first-ever look at Symbie…

>>149047047>And that's not all! Back on Earth, Spider-Man is acting different, and his brutal methods will put the entire Marvel Universe on high alert! So what should've happened during Superior Spider-Man?
>>149047132why would that happen? he only killed someone and no one cared despite them all knowing him since he was a kid of 15
>>149047020 (OP)So are they keeping the same numbering/bimonthly release, or is this a way to pad out the time before #1000?
Well on the bright side at least it's good to know they are not splitting up MJ or Gwen into two. Then again who knows maybe they will split up Norman into two. hmmm imagine this scenario two Norman's one good and the other evil.
>>149047020 (OP)Didn’t they already during Nick Spencer’s run?

Please stop buying Spider-Man books until Lowe is kicked off. Don't even pirate them or storytime them. Just ignore them or read old Spider-Man comics.
YOU FUCKERS DID THIS ALREADY IN SPENCERS RUN! For an editing team that apparently wants you to forget the last run people liked, they sure as shit aren't afraid to recycle his plots
>>149047050This isn't any weirder than when he was Captain Universe.
>>149047632hell fuckin yeah, bring that nigga spencer back

>>149047689Get fucked Lowe
>>149047727nah bro. The entire thing was ass. Shitters only love it because MJ and Peter are together. You could feed this morons anything and they'll eat it up as long as Peter and MJ are together. I like them together too but the ENTIRE run is garbage.
Didn't this just happen in Spencers run
>>149047737>>149047689It was but it also was better than everything since

>>149047816The gene splitter, Hunted, and Syndicate stuff was all good

>>149047737Yeah his run was shot, and the current runs have been worse than it
>>149047737I wouldn't say the entire run was shit but it's certainly not as good as people like to claim. Being surrounded by Slott and Wells's runs make it seem better than it actually is
>>149048947And pretty dumb I think this the final nail in the coffin for ASM.
R.I.P.
>>149048177It was perfectly fine and it did the best job it could of trying to fix things considering what a mess of Spider-Man the preceding decade of comics had made things. It was only at the end when Lowe decided to start actively fucking over Spencer and pushed him off the book that it went to shit.
>>149047839>Hunted>goodThe actual story was serviceable at best, and then it gets knocked down a solid few pegs by the Snowball II bullshit
>>149047020 (OP)Alright, yeah. I mean, it's stupid, but it's proper comic book stupid instead of just stupid-stupid. It's not something to look forward to but it's kinda refreshing to do something that--while not conceptually new--might be totally disconnected from the kind of bullshit that's been happening for a while now. Like this isn't the kind of "ooo are we gonna service the fans or give a middle finger to them" nonsense that much of the past few runs have been all about, this is just a dumb comic book story. Might be fun.
>>149047050That's pretty much most superhero comics ever.
>>149049376I don't give a shit about Spidey in Space. This is just stupid. Not stupid in a good way, stupid in a stupid way.
>>149049617Yeah, but you're not hating Spidey in Space, you just don't give a shit about it. It's stupid but not stupid-stupid.

>>149050222Polish pedophiles are nonsensical as always...
>>149050247I actually think it is Ben desu. Peter is lost in space and he took his place.
>>149050578Hadn't even considered that. They did say the Spider-Man on earth is being more brutal, which lines up with how shit Chasm is.
I feel like I just got monkey pawed
>>149050578>>149048077That would be efficient. Ben's in a heel phase, so his Spider-Maning could draw negative attention.
>>149050596Yeah, I'm not exactly a big fan of it either if it is the case. Though they could maybe spin it as a long form redemption arc for the character. He gets what he wants, doesn't know what to do anymore, and realizes he doesn't actually want it. Basically, Megamind.
It's not too likely I know, but it's not impossible either. They pushed Jackpot for a hot minute until her mini series with Black Cat tanked. Considering the Chasm mini also sold poorly the same thing could potentially happen here. I would keep expectations low though just in case.
>>149050578>>149050596I don't buy it, this would be putting Ben back into a role Spider-Office 100% rejects. Bet this is just a rehash of the split during Spencer, probably Lowe's idea.
Anyone else remember when Wells briefly mentioned he'd have an arc in space?
>>149051102>I don't buy it, this would be putting Ben back into a role Spider-Office 100% rejectsHaving Ben be evil Spider-Man for a while is absolutely a role that Lowe would approve of. The last we saw of Ben was him quadrupling down on wanting to steal Peter's life
>>149051174And before that he was shaking down kids in a subway. Why would he care about dispensing justice?
>>149051185Dude, has Chasm's characterization *ever* been consistent? Asides from it being bad, that is? I don't think they care.
>>149051185And before that he was stealing mind control devices and before that he was trying to take over Limbo.
They've got no idea what they want to do with Ben, the only consistent point is character assassination
So now it's Kaine's turn to be Spider-man Well done!!

>>149047727Will there ever be a Spidey writer that editorial won't be able to ruin?
>Spider-Men in space
I guess this is the ASM plot they derailed Spectacular Spider-Men for.
Spider-Man used to be my favorite superhero ever. Zorro, Superman, Batman, Power Rangers and TMNT were all runner-ups depending on a time period but this used to be consistent.
Now "not this shit again" is my default reaction to all things Spider-Man.

Let's just except Spider-Man has never been a good character except in games and the occasional movie or cartoon.
