Feels to simplistic, like a kid making up a reason to have all his action figures fighting a big battle. For all it's flaws Infinity War/Endgame had a shitton of stakes, but well they also had 15 (?) years to build up that story while here they are doing a rush job to fill that gap from Kang

Even if they'd stuck with Kang, there'd only be one movie as a lead-in to this. Normie interest in Doom is entirely going to rely on the stunt casting, because no amount of nerds telling normies how important and popular Doom is in comics is going to achieve anything.

I heard a rumor/possible leak where Doom recognizes MCU 616 as the main timeline, and his goal is to destroy it completely to wipe every reality in existence so he can then create a singe new universe to his liking (Franklin?). To do this, Doom must eliminate the anchor beings that keep MCU 616 stable. Tony was one, and the other one is Spider-Man.
