What does /co/ think about this franchise? What do you expect from it in the future? Are we getting a movie?

I feel like DC aren't treating the Titans in the same vein that Marvel does with X-Men and subjugate them to just being Justice League Jr, whether it be in the comics or adaptations. They always feel overshadowed or parodies like in TTG or Young Justice. I really do hope that whatever movie the DCU brings out breathes new life into the franchise that isn't held down by whatever came out in the 2000s or the 80s

Never gave a shit about the book at all. But I was coming up in the late 90s when it was less than C listers that never appeared ever again.

the 03 show was fun, but it got annoying constantly trying to imitate anime at the time. I with they cut that out. and that's really about it. All the other incarnations are so derivative of the 03 show they are not as entertaining.

that more recent garbage and cringe shit fest of a show totally shat all over the TT's legacy.

Someone posted the front page to the TT '03 pitch bible recently
9/11 was indirectly cited as why the series should be picked up

I liked the '03 show gowing up and graduated to the '80s comics.
TTG is an abomination. Bottom left makes me inwardly cringe. I'm ambivalent about the others.

I think those specific characters shined best during the Wolfman/Perez years, while Young Justice worked for the 90s era young comic readers like me. Why can't zoomers have their own teen superhero book emblematic of the 2010s and 2020s? Why didn't DC do something with Damian, Jon, and maybe a character like Grail along with whoever the other young new heroes are?

Because zoomers don't read comics and the boomers and gen x'ers that make up the core demographic of comic readers don't want anything new. They could try to appeal to younger readers but they simply can't compete with manga and anime.

Millennial here.
As a kid I was a Robin/Nightwing fan from the 90s comics and Batman media.
By the time the '03 show came out I had read literally every Titans comic ever published. I hated the show for being weeaboo garbage for little kids. The cartoon has done irreparable damage to the franchise and the characters.

TTGo is peak satire.

The Titans comics were thrillers and action and horror. I was hoping for a serialized faithful adaptation like X-Men, or at least a spiritually faithful adaptation like JLU.
Instead they did animu faces and slapstick.

In the 90s and Early 00s the NTT was still spoken of reverently. Fans kept asking for a Titans revival comic and kept getting fucked by Batman Editorial.
The '99 Titans only became a thing because Morrison used his rejected '96 Titans pitch in DC One Million.
