surprised to see this lukewarm reception on /co/
guys, it's a GOOD show. it's the smartest cartoon of its type, right ahead of Phineas and Ferb. Though not by much.
>>149067590see? these fuckers know animals.
>>149071652Gotta say, I was surprised by the amount of effort and detail on these animals, it's pretty neat
>>149071652This is the only good Disney show since Gravity Falls/Wander Over Yonder and I'll stand by that. It's hilarious. I guess shit just gets cancelled now always after one season.
Okay, rewatchin Breakfast at Chippany's. Loved this episode the first time. Observances ahoy:
>i think they were praising Lullah ironically
>Chip's eyes move far apart when he's mad
>one of Merian's "Little Guys" appears to have batteries for eyes. Way to recycle, grrl. And not the shitty fake way where it's just sold to china. >Oh I guess that one's name is Harrison.
>Chip's meal contains seagull eggs, hippo milk, and... giant squid tears? I can't think what he was taking from its eyeball.
>The mushrooms the terribly-engineered bat mutant is eating are not generic cartoon mushrooms, but visibly oyster mushrooms. yum.
>One of the mutants is a fucking sockeye salmon, and a sexually mature male at that. Fascinating.
>Rianne is also selling recognizable shrooms, particularly the enoki in front.
>Rianne's dad has HUGE tusks, so I guess it's okay hers are so big for a female.
>Apparently the payment the mutants use for such fantastic products as wet cereal, deep-fried car engines, and non-ethically-sourced grass is torn out chunks of hair.. what is their economy? Fortunately cute peeg only wants visits. That's a good technique, ladies. Trade seeing you for money. Soon we'll be buyin YOU dinner.
>I need the "I want to Bolete" poster.. NEED. Sell it, Disney. Sell it in an online store.
>Haha, they rode each other.
>the more I think about Merian "Getting dressed for 3 months to save time" the more adorable she seems. She's so adult but such a little kid too. this is probably the episode that cemented her as tied for best girl.
>The portable stove is not visibly hooked up to anything
>Merian probably doesn't get hooked because she's wearing so many clothes, it wouldn't work anyway.
>Chip is the kinda cool guy who compliments other guys' jaws.
>>149069318I guess it'd be interesting to see what happened in the new combined world with the new magic, but... ehh... it finished. it was fine. aside from some flubs.
If it came back and marco and star did not already have a baby of their own, i'd be really disappointed.
>>149071868it aint canceled yet, but it is also simultaneously renewed and 'on pause' which means canceled, so... everybody with disney plus, watch it. everybody sane, yknow, uhh.. write.. the company.. and ask for merch? I'd buy stickers of these animals.
>>149069451>The Owl House will be in S4 Chibi-verseI guess they seem happy that this show's shorts still attracts traffic.
>(bruh why they decided to only announce preschool shit)I guess they are trying to get that Cocomelon audience into their pre-school stuff.
Good thing I didn't fall for the expectations of DTVA news accounts in this Annecy like Kim Possible revival, Darkwing CGI etc.
Don't care about their originals considered they will be treated like trash, networks are focusing in revivals/reboots again.
>>149071652I'm not sure what else you'd want. We had some fantastic threads during the run of the first season. You can't really ask for more than that. But once new content runs out things will naturally slow down. It's how things go. Maybe once we get some shorts we'll have a good bump. Especially if anything else comes after that.
>>149071925>giant squid tearsWas that what he got? I thought he was getting squid ink. I know sometimes people use that for spaghetti or toppings. Though yeah, now that I look at it he was diving right into that eye. Weird.
>>149072608I meant the people in here who seem to have seen it for the first time and are unimpressed

>>149072686What new people? Looking through the thread I only see one posts that implies someone is first seeing this show and he looks not interested because of it's setting but complimented it's animation. The rest is the usual stuff. A couple of detractors and some of our usuals.

>>149072686True. The ink wasn't noticeably apparent in the dish. Honestly, I was fully convinced it was ink this whole time but now I have no idea what the heck he got from the squid. Hell it really may have just been squid years. I thought it may clear up when rewatching that part but it sure didn't. Though I did notice the way Merian panicked and ran over to her Little Guys after chip knocked their box over. The little hurried whisper she did on her way over to them was cute.
>>149072941Sarah(4) for sure.

>>149071925Surprised that whatever the squid did to him that it only took him like a day to recover, and that Mr. Okay got to him so quick. Still think she chipped the kids at some point.
>>149073142Where do you think Merian's terror comes from? The fact she's doing this, or the fact she is off-script doing this?
>>149073400she was pretty awful on stage, right? I forget, haven't rewatched that one yet
>>149073418She was awful... ly confident since she was certain she was doing it the 'right' way. The best way. The reading it out of a book way. Even if the book was completely wrong she still took it as gospel and never gave it a second thought.
>>149072941>Most people in the comments got Francis wrong.>Everyone just shilling Eda and Wander Yonder.Pain.
>>149073461yess that's right. I remember now. god this is a good show.
>>149073544never saw the appeal in wander, it looked so mindlessly silly and frenetic. Iunno. I guess Craig's post-PPG stuff just isn't for me.
>>149073461I love the spirit she put into her acting. She was fully convinced she had nailed it and happily took the place as the understudy to the understudy. It was adorable. I like the couple of times we see her trying to do arts stuff. She's never good at it but it's sweet seeing that passion.
>>149067581Do love how in-character she gets with each of her costumes. She's definitely naked under there.
>>149074160>Sara, why aren't you wearing any underwear?>First of all, I only brought two pai- ONE pair to the island. Secondly, you want me to die of heatstroke in that fur coat?
>>149074160I bet she only wore the costume because the rest convinced her going bare with only body paint would have been too much. Well that and she loves to dress up.
alright, time to rewatch Birdyguard
which is a weird title since the birdy isn't being guarded..
>Larry calling her 'Little One' shows he's not just probably a Star Trek geek (hey they play classical music too!) but also pleased to be able to call someone else little.
>"Pets are easy! you just have to feed them, play with them, take them for walks, bathe them, brush them, bathroom them, (Larry's talking over her), speak to them lovingly, make them feel confident, aaand, um, cover funeral experiences."
I miss closed captioning, it helped with overlapping conversations like this, or Flanders's apple cider vs apple juice bit.
>Whatever kind of lizard this is, she is shedding her skin within, what, a few hours of hatching? That's not normal, right? Then again, Larry's also able to peel multiple layers off of her at will, so
>Smelling sea urchins is such a wonderfully dorky thing to do
>"I know this isn't as nice as outside, but.. you'll be much safer here" pets in nutshell
>Couple episodes in a row here where Lullah and Mr. OK just make a brief cameo to remind you yeah they are still main characters.
>Knowing how this ends makes the heron's devotion feel really different.. but not that much different because of how it's presented.
>the N.H.A.S.T.E. was built in haste
>the failed three-way high five is so perfect. as is Merian's determined marching posture, and Francis's perfect swivel-headed sentry view
>Coloring the glass panes in only once they've been colided with is a funny effect
>Sarah has torn up some cat toys and killed and eaten the non-skeleton-and-feather parts of a bird to prepare for her role as guardian
>It probably would have been smart to screen which questions the machine asks before putting it in charge of guarding the sanctum. Remove any a bird could answer.
I just love how eager they are to help each other out with things, and how mad they aren't when that help is basically for nothing.
>>149074560>cover funeral experiences.I completely missed this joke the first time around. That's a good one. Though I don't imagine Merian actually having had a pet. Would be strange to come up with a pet her and her sister could share. Also recontextualizes Pliny smacking Merian with her hat. Always thought it wasn't intentional but now seeing it again it feels a lot like she did it to shut up Merian.
>>149074704kek, yeah, any pet she could have in the water, her sister would just eat. I bet she always wanted to have a pet anyway and memorized this very presentation to try to ask for one.
i love how much you get rewatching this.
>>149073544typical Instagram users
>>149075404it's sad that it's the least shitty social media
>>149074414She would definitely almost blow her cover like that, least in the beginning. Wonder how long she's known about her twin actually
>>149075576It explains why many of the StuGo crew post their work there, i'd prefer that instead of bitching about orange man 24/7
>>149073400>Where do you think Merian's terror comes from?I'd say its the fact she's doing that at all
>>149076302Yeah she doesn't strike me as the kind who's show so much skin without some serious convincing.
>>149077149at the same time, she was raised swimming.. dolphins are nakey. i'm sure until she was like 8 she refused to wear a suit, only when the camera crews came around did they put one on her, and that affected her tremendously and made her shy
>>149063608 (OP)Why are modern Disney cartoons so ugly to look at?
>>149077247ehh we're in a weird period, there's really no patterns
you get a few shows that are downright cute and have interesting and nice anatomy, but they always go gay really quickly
this is just kind of a silly fun cartoon like old Nickelodeon used to have. it really feels like those old days. it's not worried about looks, the beauty comes from the way the island is rendered, the creative animal and mutant designs, and ... trust me, their EXPRESSIONS are great. the amount of animation put into their faces.. Sara and Merian in particular..
>>149075607this easily
I get tired of show runners complaining about shit 24/7
I'd rather see them talk about their show or try and at least promote artists that make fanart of their shows
>>149073142Man, Kaze does good work.
>>149078117that he does, and it's gettin better, too.
>>149077618I mean if you're not complaining 24/7 in 2025, something's wrong with you. the problem is
>complaining about things everyone's already heard about>complaining about things a huge mob is already in agreement with you about>complaining about things that couldn't be more obviously engineered unless they hired a reality show actor to play the lead role. oh wait.>complaining about things that aren't happening>complaining about a version of events that, if you're older than ten or eleven years old, you should remember when that was not the case. and even if you think 'oh I was mistaken,' how the fuck you know you aren't now?etc. i'on even like hearing opinions i agree with, except when it's an area where I feel genuinely and demonstrably threatened. and even then, give me that one quick burst and be done with it.
>>149077208I could by that. Less drag and more natural swimming experience doing it bare. Just dressing whenever the cameras are around but running bare at almost all other times. Still, I imagine it would be something she'd have become opposed to as she started to try and distance from her sister.
>>149065301It's well established bots and shills have been on 4chan forever, and after the April Fools Thread Deathmatch and the Hack, it shows this place is hollow asf. Worse off, they keep shilling shit on here, where the the real litmus test is, in that, the niche should be thriving and not the mainstream slop. Which 4chan at it's roots is niche and the uncommon. But this entire place is a hollow hell-hole shell of itself, and I have no doubt because of it's previous cultural power and impact that had to be neutered to retard wrangle dissidence back into the rank and file of subservience of the propaganda machine of the mainstream. Which is a shame, because 4chan used to be the wild west of free speech, now it's a cesspit of mainstream shills and retarded honey-pot extremists.
>>149077618>Onyx Equinox is creator is only bitching about orange man instead of promoting the P&F revival and prefers to shill Dana Terrace new show

It blew all of it's episodes in 5 months, and the non-renewal came a couple of weeks ago. It's a mega-failure even compared to something like Primos

They have 4 upcoming projects based on their hirings website but who knows how longer will they last.

arright arright, No Manhands is an Island.
>Chip isn't even doing what he says he is properly, but you COULD heat up a hotdog via friction from the inside..
>There's something extra funny about someone plummeting while standing in a perfectly controlled stance. not even like a superhero hovering stance, but feet flat on the ground that's not there.
>Then he does air sit-ups. How the fuck did they film this? Hang on, is the ... is the implication that that was greenscreened? He has a reflection on the waterfall kind of, and the jump couldn't be faked that way, so
>I forgot about Nils's prehensile man-boobs. I would like to forget them again
>Chip managed to find the exact same kind of fruit growing that Nils was going for, albeit on a much tinier tree. there's symbolism in there.
>Larry offering a ten-inch piece of vine to help pull Chip back is fucking cute, but also everyone immediately linking up so they can make that less stupid. and Chip's pretty good at floating motionlessly through water, too
>Their reactions to the help being rejected are great. Francis gets it (she's missing a bangs line), Sarah's not sure whether to be shocked or impressed, and Merian is not happy she got her clothes wet for no reason.
>Small Friendly Crab!
>Shrimp apparently have telepathy
>Larry is just cartwheeling around, which is a hilarious way for a kid with a head that big to travel. Between this and the hula-hooping...
>Merian is the most disgusted by the plankton soup, which has extra layers now
>Was that a mudskipper? in the ocean?
>the crabs building a bridge is amazingly intricate animation.
>Nobody asks "Who's Nils?" When Chip just namedrops him as if everyone watched the videos too.
>the coincidence of meeting the guy he just now watched in a video is.. would be, very contrived. except in reality, Nils probably visited Lullah's island and left his videos and magazines around. But... being offered hotdogs again is a hell of a coincidence.
>Ear Krill must return someday
>>149091272cont'd
>What exactly was Nils gonna do with a bunch of kids in his trophy room? c-cut their heads off? Leave them embedded in the wall?>As they're being sucked in, the kids move within the friend-island individually, at different speeds. NOBODY needed that, but it made it feel more alive.>Nils is defeated in a very similar way to Lore in Star Trek Picard>In retrospect, Nils was definitely already friends with that whale. also interesting he didn't get swallowed, but inhaled. I'm not sure if whales even has a connection between their mouths and lungs actually. Might be like horses.
I think I just now realized Merian wears big pearl earrings like an old lady
but also they're pearls so it's a clue about her nautical heritage.
>>149091272A sweet friendly crab. Yeah Nils just popping in out of the blue is funny coincidence. I get why Pliny and Sara would know who Nils is. They're the ones who brought all the magazines and DVDs with his name and face all over them. They probably saw at least the covers and got the gist of who he was. He's a very what you see is what you get guy so that works out.
>>149091806oh those were theirs. I assumed they were Lullah's until I then thought oh he himself was probably there. Wouldn't be the last time a ruggedly handsome middle-aged man ran afoul of this island
>>149091935They probably were Lullah's. Pliny opens with saying they found those DVDs and stuff in the ship's storage so I guess her and Sara were digging around and stumbled upon them and since they were carrying them by hand I assume they gathered all of the stuff with him on it to use as kindling. If not for her having, at that time in the show, a hot writer her personal massage slave she'd probably be pissed her rugged man material almost got thrown out.
>>149091956now I need an episode where Nils is trying to woo Lullah and writerman is trying to reverse-wingman him because he knows better, and they end up kind of bro-ing out
>>149092624I could imagine that both would get turned on but not understand that it was from the kissing but just call it not having enough fresh air
Sarah would try and correct them and Francis would cover her mouth and say she says she wants to see how long they can go for
>>149092624And somehow Sara(h) is involved.
>>149093027It would be funny if one of is a giga-lesbian but we never know which

oh man I've been lookin forward to rewatching this one. Sister Swim:
>starts out looking into Merian's eyes lovingly
oh yeah.
>Francis doesn't close her eyes with the other while in serenity mode. Sara opens hers partway through
>Sara is thankful for secrets. Larry is thankful for skin. They have themes.
>It's neat they already established Pliny is the one who is the most into dolphins when a porpoise was her inner dog.
>Tara at least knows important things in English, like the alphabet, and Merian's name. I really want to know how you say 'shrimple' in dolphin, I mean does the pun translate? It must.
>Their story is called "Tara and the Human Sibling" she doesn't even get her sex specified. so rude.
>It was her parents who sent Tara to check on her, that's so sweet. Also yes she does have a dad.
>Did she hastily write in "Land-based activities" or was that the actual itinerary?
>Pliny says she made the dolphin carrier "once" suggesting it was a long time ago, but it was obviously here and recently. In anticipation of making new dolphriends.
>Not only did they preview the extra sarah, they have cleverly picked different planes and hid very far apart, so nobody would notice.
>I wonder if Lullah will ever hand out another trophy and reveal she was lyin'
>I really need to know what 'truth' question led Chip to jam his fist into his mouth and how that was just accepted as the answer.
>Merian was rushed out the door to go back down to the ocean without changing into her swimsuit. perhaps she was wearing it as undies today since the day started on the beach
>Pliny has an excellent view of Larry pulling the front of his trunks open. Francis, meanwhile, is watching Pliny do that.. neither of them turn, because animation is spensive
>Merian mentions 'so many wet birthdays' but we do see at least once, Tara was put in a chair so they could have a dry one.
>It's good Chip gloats so much, you get more of a payoff when he reluctantly agrees that two dying counts as extinction

>>149117976>Did she hastily write in "Land-based activities" or was that the actual itinerary?I mean, they were in swimsuits at the start right? I imagine that means there's water based activities she was leading them through for them to be wearing those and if there's water based activities there would be land ones too. Otherwise they just wore the swimsuits for the fun of it. basically
>weeb creators finally getting to make their own cartoons because they were lucky and libtarded enough to live in the right place, a surefire recipe for fantastic content>Budgets do not exist for quality animation anymore for a variety of reasons, so they can't make anime like they wanted to, and could have in the 90s if they'd been old enough and seen enough anime at the time and convinced a network to greenlight it>So they make a cheaper, simpler show, with an easily-swallowed (for the network) premise, and then they sneak bits of story in. The kinds of story that was basically forbidden in 90s western media)If something's a superhero show, it should already be above that. Because BTAS raised that bar.

>the coffee machine's name is Bean Devil. makes me want coffee
>Nasa has apparently taken our tax money to erase Lullah's face from the moon, but has not come to her island to stop her
>the butt being painted is weirdly upside down, you'd expect more of a w than an m
>Also painting the moon black wouldn't do much, it's already dark concrete gray. but I'd love an egghead to tell me precisely how much dimmer the moon would become
>Chip used 'tween' to mean preteen. that's gross. But he also namedropped one of the craters, so he's cool.
>Sarah looks.. uniquely weird in a funny way after the incredible G-forces of being shot to the moon in seconds.
>the roller robot is making a ludicrously thin line to ever be seen from earth, and is moving too slowly for Lullah's display... I'm beginning to think this isn't the real moon, but a miniature.. I'm probably overthinking a silly joke. but the robot is definitely painting things other than a butt, he's taking right angles and junk and basically painting everywhere he goes. his paint roller actually seems to be his propulsion, the treads are not necessary.
>I wonder where Van got all the fluorescent paints when he was sent up here to just paint the moon black
>I wonder how Chip would have felt if he had actually killed a robut. He does love 'em..
>Are the Sarahs going to share Van?
>Oh the butt was cheek-side-up so it could become a heart, I see. good one, guys.
>Also neat Chip knows the secret, I'm sure he's happy the robot survived.

>>149134401Thanks anon I appreciate the second mind on the series especially when I forget about the little details and it makes me look for them when I do rewatch it.
Nice to see someone actually talk about the show
It sucks how we used to get this type of commentary about the shows when it aired live with there usually needing to be a second thread for post show talk but not now its not very common at all
>>149134778plus this show more than most has a lot of things that feel differently with context. it's not what people are beginning to derisively call 'lore,' it's just getting to know these people and finding out what you didn't even know was being hidden from you
>>149134878Yeah I always liked the aspect of knowing every little detail about shows without having some self important autist make an hour long video to explain half of what was posted.
I just wish there were more people talking about this show but I guess the characters need to be sexy for /co/ to want to talk about the show
I don't mind the r34 and hornyposting but damn we need more than just that
>>149126667It definitely didn't help that everyone suddenly got super easy access to pirating with the help of those on discord handfeeding everyone who is so technologically inept that they otherwise would be forced to watch the proper way
>>149135294That may have been a part of it. But owl and frog show had had megas and torrents posted throughout the whole run. And were big enough that they both had fan sites that hosted the episodes. If the ease of pirating was a problem it would have effected those shows too wouldn't it? If anything it was easier to get frog and owl show episodes since Moon Girl links would get hit faster than most shows would.
>>149135316Most of these people have their parents pay for Disney so they have the access but chose to support by watching the official release then pirating to have the show on hand for screenshots and shitty edits to post amongst themselves
After the "boycott" they no longer had a reason to continue supporting so they cancelled D+ and maybe even cable since everyone has an easy link to everything these days

>>149138415Nah Pliny shows off her bald head sometimes. It's cute.
>>149135270i know, and it's all the neuters' fault.
we had this comfortable balance, but the more cranky menopausal women (and the kids they have chemically castrated to join their weird cult) push against anything the least bit sexual, the more we push back and become kinda boringly pervy. and of course, the more ALONE we become due to the SURPLUS of intact, non-terrified females to spend time with us... the worse we get at hiding our power levels.
Stugo isn't a sexy show, it's just about fun adolescents being fun adolescents.. they're gonna get tingles here and there, and for now it's just funny and cute. In my day, those always went together. That's what we liked about anime. you got boners AND the beetus.

>>149140866it's been a hot minute
thankfully stugo is like, neither that nor not that. it's just six kids, half white (which is pretty high buy modern standards), a third asian (which isn't), and none of them making a fuckin deal out of it. they're just kids bein kids and also they are smart and sciencey. and nobody laughs and mocks Chip when he takes charge and tries to be a man. But at the same time, he learns that sometimes just crying works better, when you're outclassed.
>>149142029I guess I might have been biased because I am not young/older teens like these kids were but they have no excuse to not know how to handle basic searching.
As a young kid I learned on my own how to do all this stuff and torrenting became a simple thing to do.
I remember sometimes it was as easy as googling " "Watch movie" (date it came out) free" and I would even have downloads of the whole thing on megaupload when I found the right site
It was easier back in the mid to late 2010's when those shows came out because that search brought you to a streaming site directly and you didn't have browse through several websites or dealing with viruses/CP on limewire
>>149142049I mentioned that a couple of threads back.
I also mentioned that StuGo could easily fit in the venture bros universe. We know more villains exist, Dr. Lullah is a mad scientist herself. She belongs to a group of super scientists that seem to fuck around in international waters so they don't have to deal with either the Guild or OSI. Even if either of them are willing to go out and fuck with someone with a base of operations in the water.
Also the way this show does little callbacks from previous episodes really fits the venture bros universe.

>>149142261it's been a weird rollercoaster ride, these days it's fucking dire, the only result you can get on google that isn't some corporate chain is reddit.. so you hope someone on reddit has made a list of websites to go to.
you to to them, 90% of them your antivirus is like "nope, that'll give your computer aids" so you finally find one that works
then you have to selectively unblock things one at a time with your scriptblocker. is THIS what makes it work? is this? until some sources eventually just stop working, always tell you 'not available,' or flat-out disappear.
it's not that bad for cartoons, there's a few more reliable sources, but... I mean your point is valid, normie views are the only views anyone can hope to get anymore, so if it's easier for tech-illiterates to pirate, then those are lost too, since they probably can't afford tv anyway, and do not understand piracy is meant to counteract price gouging.

>The racecar squid is fucking cute, I've never seen quite those proportions used with such a realistic squid. and she really crams his body into that helmet... couldn't even make it a nautilus shape?
>she actually programmed the Hotbot to 'chew' after you throw something in. That thing is not OSHA-compliant.
>It's incredibly sweet how supportive they all are of Francis's interest, though it's funny she's only delivering a single envelope, when there were bags and bags of them. You'd think Lullah would have opened them and looked for birthday cash.
>Who the fuck is making signs here measured in cubits? what IS this island? I can see Lullah making a weather machine, but it's crazy she'd leave it set to 'winter' in this one spot.. at least if the kids ever get too hot, they know where to go.
>Pliny's cousin has uncreative taste in pet names.
>I forgot there was a cute river-otter mutant who has been spending time with specifically-Pliny. I hope they fall in love. And it was a fun subversion having Pliny quit before Sara
>How the fuck did Lullah freeze a sheet of ice over a hollow passageway down to a lower level? What is this minecraft shit.
>They were 2000 cubits away before, they are now 9000 cubits. They are getting further away, but at least that's still only a couple miles.
>Not sure if Larry is saying "We're risking our Larries" referring to himself, recognizing that he is precious, or if that's a euphemism he uses for his nuts. You can just see his nanay teaching him that.
>Did Merian make her #1 snitch badge herself, or did her school actually hand those out? I am still unsure whether she's wearing a school uniform jacket or an old powersuit one of her parents owned...
>Chip getting blasted in the crotch by hot water and enjoying it brings to mind that wonderful Venture Bros bit where he's using the hot air dryer. "it's like someone with a fever is yelling at my junk."

But she's also stupid strong. we gotta remember that.>Sarah got digested by that plant. We lost one of the Sarahs already. And Francis is sympathetic to her less-pigmented companions' need for less jungly climates.>Francis and Merian coming up with different names for the cave at the same time is adorable, but "Gloom of night" isn't really a.. name of a cave, Francis.>I wonder what kind of dark places Francis knows about. I bet she has just stood around in dark basements for a while just to chill.>That mastiff is still really fucking cute and I want it. He's not even that big, just like bear-sized, but his head is fucking massive.>I like that one of the forbidding signs just says "CAN U NOT ENTER" like that was definitely a very put-upon mutant slave.. and "NO ONE LISTENS TO ME" on the back of the sign, yeahhh.>Despite delivering a single piece of mail being so important, the mailbox is surrounded by swirling letters.. Mr. Many-elbows could really have a bunch more if he wanted.>I would have fallen for the ghost diamonds. In about 10 seconds. It's a tragedy waking up from those dreams. And now everything's back to where it was before: over.

if animation is so expensive, and the hand-done inbetweening requires so much labor, why can't we just have this? this can't be much more expensive than like, aquateens, really. it's enjoyable. this is how Epithet Erased should have been when he ran out of money.
>>149144242An animatic? That's cool. Think this is the first time we got one of these for this show.

Matt and Dana have jobs in an era where most industry people are jobless and changing careers.
Dana went to Glitch because it was the only way to do an original project since the industry wants revivals or reboots.
And Matt... supposedly he is making a movie on Sony with Rebecca Sugar but it's been some time since we know anything about it but he is working on Sony.

>>149146901You know, I still wonder how the heck Merian knew how to ride a motor cycle. Not only is she a dork but raised with a dolphin sister. Neither really say kind of person to learn how to ride a motorcycle at thirteen or so to me. I could maybe see it if her and her sister were carnival types but their whole thing seemed more science based and she was just the "human sibling" part of their duo so it's not like anyone would have cared if she was doing motorcycle tricks. Still cool though.
>>149148083that's a fantastic point...
you don't suppose she just used her jetski skills and boundless confidence and ASSUMED she could, and that worked..
or maybe she learned on the side, just to round out her skills for college.
>>149148388>just to round out her skills for college.I can see this one. A bizarre collection of skills she collected in preparation for that. Or it could also have been part of her life plan. Maybe having a midlife crisis and getting into motorcycling to feel young again in her forties was part of her plan so she learned early to get a jump on things.
>>149144242I'll have to watch this later

>>149151610No, not until see you hear it from the cast and crew, Internet people saying โyesโ or โI have an exclusive scoopโ or any variation of those two means nothing

The scooper who reported it added "it won't return for a second season" (the guy who runs that account has been vocal on his distaste for the show anyways)

>Ryan Gillis: "We havenโt been cancelled yet- all eyes are gonna be on StuGoโs Disney+ performance. So (please) tune in on July 30th!"
Sorry but I'm not falling for that again.
Even TOH got this treatment of watching it in D+... despite the cancellation being taken months before the show was put on D+.
If the crew is saying that the people need to watch the show in order for it to not get canned, it's already doomed.
>>149157696Again, if was going to be renewed, they would have announced it at their Annecy panel that was specifically for renewals.
Stick a fork in it. It's done.
>>149157696it was officially announced as renewed
that is the ONLY official word we have. the reports of 'wait for D+' was from the creators, after that.

I know a lot of y'all have given up, but I feel like the reason they paused it was because they're gonna let Phineas and Ferb run through its season
>>149158889yeah but i do not touch chibiverse... well i touch it a little.
>>149158919do they think we have too limited time to watch 10 episodes of one show and maybe 1 per week of another?
>>149159155Probably, yeah. Seemed like making space for something as big as Phineas And Ferb is why Disney hasn't been doing much premiers lately.
>>149159208that's..
if they think that, they need to severely downsize
>>149158889Bosma's Linkedin mentions he's still working at Titmouse as Art Director on the shiw, likely we might get some specials like Kiff

>>149159208There line up has been new Big City Greens, Phineas and Ferb and Kiff. They were more stacked during the Stugo run where they were running Big City Greens, Stugo, Kiff, Primos, Hamster and Gretel and Moon Girl (February) at the same time.
>>149159491Yeah but I don't think it's fair to compare Phineas And Ferb to any of those shows. That's not something you want to stack anything up against.
>>149159500against? The shows are running together in a block.
>>149158919Again, refer to this
>>149157696If a creator has to beg you to watch it on streaming, it's already over.
>>149159875You might be right anon, but I've never seen Disney ever do this with another cartoon
>>149064336
>>149159875that's every show
>>149160010They've been promoting StuGo like crazy at Tik Tok and IG + the show is still getting reruns on the main channel as opposed to Hailey and Primos who where dropped from Disney Channel a month after their finales
>>149157221That's pretty extensive. I don't even remember that Rascal Bot joke. Been a while.
>>149145817Just don't get Bad Francis going again.
>>149161701for her own sake
she really didn't like that. I remember being her age and not having control over hitting people when they taunted me enough and teachers refused to do anything. they KNEW they were getting hurt, yet they wanted it? it was worth it to get me in trouble. one time the african kid got hit when I tossed a fucker across the room, poor Tunde. he did nothing wrong. it wasnt his fault
So I've watched the first five episodes now, is it me or does the show improve a lot from episode 3? The first two episodes were okay, not really anything special but then the next three I really enjoyed. The jokes seem to land better, the plots feel more engaging and some of the visual comedy is great; Chip getting unexpectedly pulled through the door gap in episode 4 genuinely made me laugh out loud and that's not an easy feat. It's nice to see a modern show that isn't afraid to use cartoon physics.
I definitely like Merian best, but I like Francis a lot as well and I don't really dislike any of the characters. Pliny could maybe do with a bit more character, she seems the most generic right now but there's plenty of time for that to happen.
>>149162393the pacing is kind of interesting, there's a lot of HUGE episodes just after the beginning, things that feel like normally you would have built up to them, but no. the epic quest for mail delivery, finding out Lullah can control everything on the island, going to the fucking moon, Chip becoming a straight-up island.. all of these come wayy before certain huge revelations later on, that .. the more I read your post, I'm not sure you're re-watching. are you first time? dude i don't wanna spoil you. there's spoilworthy stuff.
also yes, the physics are incredible here. This is cartoon physics drawn by people with biology degrees.
Okay yeah sounds like you are indeed new, well yeah Pliny's kind of the most bland, because she's the closest we have to a main character, but she does get to have some really nice times to shine. When she gets excited about things, it's so cute. and most of us have definitely settled on Francis and Merian as favorite characters.
>>149162393Yeah I can easily say the first 2 episodes of the series are probably the weakest, but its also because this introduces all the characters to us. Getting all the necessary stuff out of the was as quickly as possible so we can get to all the crazy stuff.
Merian is best girl
>>1491627511st is like 80% of what I could even possibly ask for, it just relies a little too much on wacky fast-paced adventure, and too little on character stuff. which is sadly what all the ads make it look like
second was A) a terrible preview and B) kind of an unwinnable situation. It's a great episode, but you can't do this _after_ establishing characters, because it's got to set things up with the mutants. but you can't do it _before_ like they did, because you don't know these people enough yet to understand their individual tenacities in this situation.. buut.. it does lead you there. it's great for a rewatch.
>>149162536Oh yeah, this is my first time watching. I had kind of a break which resulted in me missing the show airing entirely. Looking forward to continuing when I can, hopefully there will be threads around.
>>149162751>Merian is best girlCertainly seems that way.
>>149162925dude you have no idea
I wish I could experience it all fresh again like you did. Merian does.. some amazing things. Things that she'd just DIE if she knew people were watching her do on TV.
>>149162393Yeah, they sort of find their groove more and more as the show goes on. Though I wouldn't really call any of the early episodes weak exactly. Either way the show really does do a great job with it's cartoony humor and it's characters are pretty likeable. It's definitely the show's strongest points.
>>149162222Cute little wave
