So, Earthshart is gay but I gotta say I do like this Soundwave. It's a nice blend of designs and stealth bomber is pretty much the only fitting vehicle mode for him if not going for something chunky like a type of van, truck, or transport copter.

Not many stealth bomber TFs either, off memory there's like G2 Dreadwing, a version of Megatron (bad fit imo), Bayverse Mindwipe....who else?

As an aside for a personal project, what do you think would be the most fitting vehicle mode base for a weasel beastformer? I was thinking either motorcycle or formula 1 car

How so?

I think that black-purple is Megs' true secondary color scheme with grey/black as a primary. Sort of like Optimus' optics are sometimes yellow. Prime combined them with Dark Energon and I think the purple makes great contrast.

But yeah black/purple works as an alt color scheme, though to me it's more always varying betweem grey/black/red of GI, and grey/purple of some more modern designs being the most common Megs looks. I like the idea of a black Megatron alternate look though whether it used purple, or red primarily as a second color

I kind of hate Rodimus didn't keep the black paint job he got in Cyberverse. I think the black looked great on him instead of IDW's abysmal purple pastels. Alt paint colors should happen a lot more often. Bumblebee's yellow jacket color scheme especially.

But as for function, I do agree a stealth bomber isn't very Megatron. However, he still works really great as a jet. In Bay, I think I liked his original jet more than Knight or Truck.

Besides One, modern isn't worth it. Cyberverse is weird because if you are not an IDW fan I don't really see much appeal. It relies almost entirely on you being familiar enough with the cast to care about what they're doing. Windblade just shows up in the first episode with less of an intro than 2015.

I would much rather MECH not be just Silas. He was, arguably, a Headmaster in purpose but his goals and organization were weak since there was no reason to support him. Were his men paid well? Did they hate the new species hiding on Earth? We don't know. At least g.h.o.s.t. was lead by someone who had friends. Everyone working for her wanted to be there and Mandroid just needed the resources.

I think Autobot X is a bit boring, more of a camp idea instead of something worth spending time on. A Halloween episode/comic, sure. But not anything of real substance.

Nemesis Prime I also think works more as something else. A clone made by a force that could make him a problem. Which is why I brought up the Headmasters. I think bodyjacking robots always makes for an interesting story because of how much they go out of their way to show how 'human' they are

Scorponok arguably has a bigger role than Fortress Maximus, but most of the other Headmasters and Targetmasters on both sides don't matter than much in the comics. Scorponok got one of the most memorable and tragic deaths of the comic, too. Blackrock's Neo Knights were only introduced towards the end, but it was a way of keeping him and Circuit Breaker around. In retrospect Circuit Breaker's design was like a decade ahead of it's time and she'd have probably looked more like a circuitry version of Witchblade if she'd been created later.

IIRC after the G1 comic ended, Furman and Wildman actually pitched a Neo Knights book set in the Marvel Universe, with them fighting various Marvel robot heroes and villains.

I know people hate Hashtag for he name, but I genuinely think the terrans should have been Twitch, Thrash and Hashtag. Giving the Malto family two sons, two daughters and Hashtag's internal circuitry a boost as an older daughter. She's big, strong, and I like her fumbling. She gets taken advantage of, a lot, which would give her a way to click with Grimlock. I think Nightshade is redundant with her there as the tech wiz and the fat one being a punching bag can go right back to Thrash who gets his shit kicked

I know Starscream's redemption was cancelled, but she would have made an excellent bridge to the cons being surveillance to counter Soundwave. Emotional growth boosted by Starscream. And technology/science to counter Shockwave. I knot this is putting a fuck ton of emphasis on her alone, but she's just easily such a versatile terran who feels useless because they split the same personality between her and two other characters.
