Seriously? That's it? If he were a filthy, misogynistic sex pest involved in a tech support scam, I could understand the outrage. But this is downright tame compared to some of the other stereotypes that appear on the show.

Only one Indian dude who was born outside of India who wanted his voice role for himself and their followers think he was a negative stereotype. Actual Indians want him to come back.

If I were the show runner, I'd have replaced Apu with a 2020s racist Indian stereotype, then have him voiced by an Indian actor so they can't complain. Because I'm spiteful like that.

Apu used to be huge. A 7-11 was converted into a Kwik-E-Mart.

The Simpsons really cared about Apu and did a lot of things to help him. They helped him with immigration, they helped him when he lost the Kwik-E-Mart. It was a good message to see the Simpsons care about someone who was very different racially, culturally, and religiously from them.
