>introduced in 2, in which he has a good character arc
>dies at the start of 3
Why couldn't they keep him around?

It says a lot how some TV channels air Shrek 1 and Shrek 2 back to back, yet don't include Shrek 3

Would it not be par for the course if it was? I mean the first two movie villains were killed by the end.

And moments ago he tried to kill Shrek

Farquaad was being a threat. Charming wasn't (no weapons in hand/all of his henchmen had switched to the good side)

It takes real effort to make a high-budget CGI animation movie as boring, insipid, uninteresting, unfunny, derivative, manipulative, patronizing, and narratively half-baked as Shrek 2.

Shrek 2 doesn't hold a candle compared with the two previous PDI efforts, Antz and Shrek from 2001.

The tower fell with him positioned in the window, it doesn't even look like he died.

Puss could have appeared in any other installment, like the first one, instead of having to suffering horrible characters like Fairy Godmother, King Harold and Prince Charming.

Shame how he went from the early Disney Renaissance films (pic is from a Rescuers Down Under preview in 1990) to stuff like Shrek 2.

This thread feels like an autist with a hateboner for Shrek 2, which I'm pretty sure was critically acclaimed beyond even the first movie. I prefer the first movie, the setting is more to my tastes and it doesn't feel too crowded, but the second was still pretty good.

Now Shrek 3 is one that I've seen several times and every single time it's a blur. I've never seen anything that came after.

TBS skipped over Shrek 3 and went straight to 4 when they ran a back-to-back marathon.
