Why are speculators so nuts?

This isn't the first time Deadpool gets a symbiote.
It's not the first cover appearance of a Venompool.
Its a reprint of a back story of a few issues. Why is it more expensive than Deadpool's first appearance? Its literally just a Skottie Young cover and not even a super one.

Speculators are nuts. This has no reason to be this expensive.

It's scarce and both Venom and Deadpool have people who collect every comic they appear in.

Paying stupid amounts of money to collect otherwise worthless consumer slop is for autistic spergs. Like retards collecting funko pops and niche retro games in foreign languages they can't read. Wasn't collecting capeshit slop a dad in the 90s entirely fuelled by wanting to pawn it off to a dumber retard for a profit? It's like beanie babies for spergs that like capeshit.

its nuts. I don't get it. They're literally charging more than you could get for Deadpool first appearance for. It wasnt even scarce. I had it when I had like every issue that had DP and Venom

It could be wash reading where the do a bunch of fake sales/purchases from themselves in order to jack up the price in the hope they could pawn it off to some retard at a bigger profit

>It wasnt even scarce.

It is. Go check when it was released:

https://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2011/2011-02.html

Instead of being listed as "What If" it's listed as "Venom Deadpool" and only had an estimated 17,609 orders. 17,609 orders is way lower than whatever New Mutants #98 got because New Mutants #98 was printed at a time when Marvel books had way higher orders than 17,000. (like wasn't the cancellation level 100K or something back in the early 90s?)

The reason why it only got that many orders is because it was just a reprint. The original comics were back-up stories in other What If specials, but since this was a full Venom/Deadpool cover it leads to what >>149123766 said.

A lot of the "popular" floppies are prohibitively expensive these days. None of them should be over 5 bucks and yet here we are. It's like they've forgotten that to gain new readers they need to be affordable
