first 2 seasons are pretty damn nice and then you can SEE the identity politics activists complete their infiltration to positions of power.

they had the perfect elf waifu but they ruined her AND the show.

It seems that all of this happened because Aaron is terrible at planning and world building.
The show was being carried by the characters but they also tried to drink the Kool aid and be as progressive as possible which in the end it resulted in them being bitten in their asses.
As soon as women's and woke crew got a more hold of the writing team during covid and the lawsuit against Aaron it resulted in the show beaming even worse.
They had the perfect opportunity to focus more on the elf human conflict and Aaravos gang but they decided to break up Rayllum in one of the worst way possible just to teach us the lesson that a boyfriend job was always to forgive no matter what even if he doesn't receive an apology from his partner.
Then they waste even more time with the Sunfire elf plot and the lesbians queen and other Stupids plot or morals and in the end they decided that they didn't even have to conclude the story because they are trying to get three more seasons again.
Truly a disaster and I'll never forgive them for what they did to Rayla character and her design

Oh yeah, it had a lot of problems and was never great but I still liked the characters which made at least more bearable to watch than Korra.
What I meant to say it that it then became way worse after season 4 and it's baffling that after three years of hearing people opinions on the show they decided that the best course of action would to break up the main couple which was the only think that almost anyone agree was good.
Terrible decisions after terrible decisions without a clear vision of the project which then made the show became even more of a completely wrong moral lesson that the writers were trying to teach to us.
When the porn comics and the fanfics have a better writing than the main show you know you have a problem.

>She left him in a comic during the night of his birthday after promising him that they would have gone togheter to find Viren
>She disappeared for two years with zero contact and Callum fear that she has died
>She then reappears in season 4 the day after Callum birthday and we found out that during all of this time where she was in an adventure she found out nothing and accomplished also nothing
>She except to be welcomed by Callum once again and never even apologize to him or show remorse to him but she apologize to Ezran for some reasons
>She then never try to patch up her relationship with Callum and just wait for him to fix it up
>She also leave behind Soren in a forest filled with enemy because she was pissed that Callum didn't welcome her back with open arms
>In the end she got forgive by Callum in the last episode of season 4 because he thought she died and realized that he preferred to patch thinks up with her before it is to late
>Nonetheless the first episode of season 5 she literally lies to Callum about the coins situation and steal a key from him to access a no entry zone
>She gets caught but, Callum forgave her and even say that she can do whatever she wants and doesn't have to explain why she is doing it
>Then there are also other situations in the following seasons that really make her characters worse, like how she didn't immediately check on Callum after he was tortured, or how she left him in the cold in a frozen lake while she was reading a book, how she apparently can't realize that it is bad that her father killed the father of Ezran and how he could be angry at him, especially if after you break him out of jails and Callum had to betray his brother to save her ass
>And after all of this she didn't apologize again after Callum gave her the possibility to redo their meeting after two years
>The writers made Callum be the one in the wrong and the one to apologize because he was angry at her for leaving
>And her new design sucks

this, it proves that none of them (Aaron, Michael and Brayan) can't work without eachother, they counter eachother's flaws
>Michael and Brayan suck at writing characters, but have better worldbuilding in general aspects
>Aaron has a bad grasp at worldbuilding, but he can make the characters undergo their journey pretty well
without a team like that you end up with Korra (mediocre character at best, lame avatar; interesting world after the events of Ozai) being a failure of a sequel to its predecessor, and TDP (good character chemistry and plot moving factors, non-interesting world premise) having a solid footing the first couple of seasons, but stepped on a lego midway season 4 and never recovered

The part that hurt me the most was when Aaron humiliated viewers who cared for Rayllum, force feed us a tranny ship and then followed all that up by hammering home that Callum exists only to be Rayla's bitch.

The docked around with side plots and ended up making a season of filler when they switched studios so rather than finish the story they just bet on getting renewed for more seasons. I doubt they ever actually had the whole thing planned out Hollywood types always lie about this. They don't have scripts written it's all vague outlines that haven't been cashed out

While this is true let's not rewrite history. They always had a problem with cringe saccharine content and humor and pacing issues. Erhaz insists on forcing in cringe kiddy content that not even kids like and is incapable of balancing a family friendly tone that's interesting to adults and older kids while being appropriate for younger audiences like ATLA did.

After reading way too many C.S. Lewis essays I have come to the conclusion that it's impossible to write good fantasy with any kind of modern mindset, parodies aside.
All good fantasy is always drawing from an older and deeper well, even if without the author realizing.
