Inside Out 2 was riding on a legacy IP. This just feeds into the idea that Pixar can no longer make new things and can only coast on its popular IPs, up until they run those in the ground as well.

it's pretty weird to claim this is anything to do with pixar and not the natural state of all movie production. original IPs are massive risks unless they're very cheap to produce.

One good movie doing well isn't going to negate all the bad movies that bombed. Especially if they are as expensive as Elio is at $300. This is why Deadpool & Wolverine did not save Phases 4 & 5 of the MCU. You can't survive on just one good movie. You need several good movies doing well.

Because their new ideas are shit? Nobody likes that beanmouth shit.
>but then they'll just make sequels
Yeah, and that's why Pixar is dying. They'll eventually just crash all of their IPs with idiotic stories or decisions.

I just looked at the Pixar timeline and literally everything that came out since Lasseter left has been garbage and the last couple years/films just before that weren't great either. It seems like everything since The Good Dinosaur has been one increasing failure after another.

Disney+

Why the fuck would I bother to see a lukewarm Pixar movie when I can just wait 3 months and see it on a streaming platform I'm already paying for? In my nice comfy home theater setup with popcorn that doesn't cost $12 per bag. Pixar movies just aren't spectacles enough to warrant the theater experience.

>Buy an 8 oz popcorn machine, big bag of popcorn kernels, flavocal butter salt, five gallon jug of coconut oil, and one gallon of butter topping with a pump
>Cost $200 for everything
>Pays itself off if used 10 times with theater prices
>Been using it a couple times a week for two years and still have half my supplies

Honestly, popcorn isn't obscenely overpriced. It's outright financial rape.

However,>>149129805 is 100% correct in that flavocal will be the absolute biggest factor in getting movie theater popcorn flavor.

Coconut oil basically tricks you into thinking you've made a difference. I fell for that meme for years and kept assuming I was just doing something wrong, it barely changed anything. What you need is flavocal, if you want something that tastes like movie theater popcorn, that's your way in.

People have always been so cruel and shitty towards Pixar. Even during the Golden Age, they would always try to compare the newest film to Toy Story and The Incredibles
