Nah, things go through peaks and troughs. A good piece of media is almost like a happy accident. The best script can be ruined by poor performances but a bad script can be elevated by golf performances. The point is there are so many factors in any creative work because of how they are made and at any point they can go wrong. But it takes a team and a culture to really make the work happen. And normal people focus on the brand rather than the active people who drive this stuff.

Pixar fails now because the feeling of universality is gone. It feels almost ugly now.

>What if I made a coming of age film about a specific Chinese-Canadian/immigrant second generation perspective complete with period type references.
Old Pixar would have made a less niche and more universal story about alienation that any kid could understand.

Unless if you're trolling of baiting, your post is the pure definition of retardation. Did you not watch the same movies as anyone else? Pixar watered down the quality of their movies by the time Disney bought the company, the writers strike happened and the recession happened, and all of this was during the late-2000s, and this began in the beginning of the decade with Toy Story 3, with a whirlpool of sequels, prequels and spinoffs of their IPs. Even their original line of movies are also in shit quality and have been failures one after another, with only Inside Out and Coco being successful at the box office because the two movies generate an audience of middle-age wine drinking social media women, including moms.

So with your argument that "we've grown old" for not enjoying the movies, please go back and rewatch the classics made between the late-1990s to the late-2000s such as Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Ratatouille and WALL-E. These movies have actual meaning that made the company special. The innuendos that writers put in that even adults could relate to were the reasons why Pixar used to make great movies during the 2000s.

In conclusion, if you care so much about corporate slop such as this, you shouldn't be allowed to type anything on the internet, or even be on 4chan at all. Please go out and enjoy a box office bomb like Elio, because it sure as hell has a Pixar namebrand on it, because to you, it does not look like corporate slop that's tailor made for middle-age wine drinking social media women or even manchildren like you. Congratulations, retard

>As you can see, we made the strawman I disagree with fat and gave him an extremely unflattering haircut. This will ensure the audience understands that the character is dislikable when Foamy folds his arms and looks directly into the camera.

Family Guy can have funny cutaways and isolated jokes still even if it sucks mostly. Watching clips online is the best way to enjoy modern FG.

But then you have Seth's other show, American Dad, where it doesn't rely on cutaways, and instead has story-driven jokes that are surprisingly funnier than Family Guy. Plus, American Dad has more interesting characters such as Stan, Roger and Steve
