Not as an original cartoon in its own right. But I think a deliberate pastiche of Eva done by Americans could be very amusing. You'd have to handle it properly, though.

Honestly yeah, it could be pretty amusing if done right. Something like Go Nagai World or those shorts on the Avatar DVDs could be neat and there are some fun bits that could be done with them.

I mean, isn't the Evangelion art style pretty much the beanmouth of the east? I think you could compare Eva to Gravity Falls, but the truth is that the animation industry is also a lot more flexible in Japan, so you can get programming that does adult stuff despite being marketed towards teenagers.
Evangelion just wouldn't be able to exist in the west. It would have to be adult animation, which has its own expectations in the west.
