Begins with the F4 attending the Ted Gilbert Show, which is celebrating the team’s four-year anniversary. There’s a recap of their origin and adventures so far.
Red Ghost (John Malkovich) plants bombs around the city to distract the F4 while he tries to steal their spaceship, the Excelsior. They are able to thwart him and he gets thrown in jail. Reed fights his super-apes on the docking platform for the Excelsior and he throws them all into the river. Once the rest of the F4 rendezvous with Reed at the ship, Sue uses her powers to levitate one of the apes and is like “you threw a monkey into the river?” and Reed says “they’re cosmically-altered baboons, they’ll be fine”, so she throws the ape back into the river.
Sue finds out she’s pregnant, the Silver Surfer arrives to herald Galactus, and the F4 follow her into space. She leads them to Galactus’ ship, where he has just consumed a planet. Galactus offers to space Earth if the F4 give him Reed and Sue’s baby, a mutant with godlike powers Galactus plans to use to revive his dead universe. The F4 refuse and escape with the Silver Surfer in pursuit. Sue goes into labor and Reed delivers Franklin during the chase, while the Johnny and Ben manage to throw the Surfer into a wormhole.
The F4 return to Earth, and the entire world comes together to build a bunch of teleportation devices across the globe that when powered up together will be strong enough to teleport Earth to a place where Galactus can’t find them. Months pass as they build the portals. Right before they activate them, the Surfer emerges from the wormhole (for her it’s only been a couple of minutes) and starts destroying the portal devices. She destroys almost every single one on the planet until the one in NYC is the last one. Right before she is able to destroy it, Johnny broadcasts voice messages of people from her native planet onto the billboards in NYC, and she stops for a moment as Johnny tries to reason with her.
He points out that these voice messages are still being transmitted because Galactus spared her planet, and the only reason he would do that is if she sacrificed herself to him and became his herald. Then we get the flashback scene of her getting abducted from her planet and transforming into the Silver Surfer. No mentions of Norrin Radd. The Surfer feels bad about all other planets that she’s helped feed to Galactus, has a change of heart and dips.
Since the Surfer destroyed all the portal devices but the NYC one, they can’t teleport anymore so they have no choice but to stand their ground and face Galactus. They F4 evacuate all the citizens of NYC to Subterranea where their old enemy Mole Man is in charge. Their plan to beat Galactus is to use the last remaining portal to send him to a faraway place, and in order to get Galactus to step into the portal, they place Franklin in the middle of it and use him as bait. Once Galactus lands in NYC, he scans the city for baby Franklin, and once he spots him, he makes a beeline for him.
While Galactus is marching his way towards the portal, the F4 replace Franklin with a baby carriage, and they send Franklin to the Baxter Building where he is safe with H.E.R.B.I.E. Right when Galactus is about to step into the portal, he realizes Franklin is not there anymore, so he scans the city again and finds out Franklin is in the Baxter Building. Galactus starts making his way there, the F4 try to stop him but they fail and he smashes the building, grabs baby Franklin and starts heading back to his ship. They make a last ditch effort to try and stop him, and that’s when Sue starts using all her energy to push him towards the portal.
Right before Sue sends Galactus through the portal, Reed stretches and is able to grab Franklin from Galactus’ hand and save him. For a second they think they have beat him, but Galactus starts climbing back out the portal. The countdown for the portal to close is about to hit zero, so Johnny’s like “tell Franklin Uncle Johnny loves him” and he starts flying towards Galactus with the intent to sacrifice himself.
Right before he’s able to though, the Surfer swoops in, knocks Johnny out of the way, and sends both herself and Galactus through the portal, ultimately sacrificing herself and saving the day. Sue is dead from using all of her power and Reed tries to revive her but is unsuccessful. He lets baby Franklin touch his mother and suddenly his hands start glowing and Sue comes back to life.
Ben casually says “It’s clobbering time” a couple times near the start of the movie, but the big one is during the final fight with Galactus. Johnny is flying Ben in the air and Johnny is like “say the thing, Ben!” and Ben’s like “no, I don’t want to” and Johnny’s like “come on, just say it” and Ben’s like “fine, IT’S CLOBBERIN’ TIME” and Johnny launches Ben towards Galactus and Ben punches him in the face.
Post-credits scene
Sue is reading to a slightly aged-up Franklin, who is maybe 4 or 5 at this point (he was a baby the entire movie). He wants to her to read something else so she gets up to find another book. H.E.R.B.I.E. hands her "The Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin as a joke but she goes to pick out a more kid-friendly book. Then when she’s heading back into the living room she realizes something is wrong, so she gears up to attack and when she turns the corner she sees a hooded Doctor Doom holding his mask talking to Franklin (his back is to the camera so we don’t actually see RDJ’s face).
>>149156814How the fuck is Sue of all people strong enough to solo Galactus?
>>149157037i think sue being the strongest member is fairly established? her power is bullshit and the mcu doesn't have to pretend to deal with established comics feat restrictions.
>>149157037>>149157070>>149157104To keep in mind
>Galactus is weaker when hungry>Galactus is double weaker when away from his ship>All Sue did was push him into a portalSo it's not entirely out there. It's not like she solos him and kills the guy.
>>149157167yeah, this doesn't bother me at all. if anything the idea that she dies doing it seems less believable for her because she'd have her usual hax plus mom rage powerup.
>>149157162they just can't help themselves. they are always going to do shit like this
>>149157257sue's canonical powers are absolute bullshit with the usual explicit 'no upper limit', 'barely scratches the surface of her potential' nonsense that other marvel superpowerhouses get shackled with to keep them in check until it's time to wrap up the plot.
>>149157257Motherfucker do you actually read or are you just here to shitpost? It's not even a fight!
>>149156806 (OP)>>149156814>>149156827That tracks with everything else I’ve heard. Basedtastic.
>Sue finds out she’s pregnant and immediately gives birth
>>149157104It's been established for decades. It won't matter since most people will cry woke given that their only knowledge of FF comes from the crappy '00s films.
>>149157346>>149157334And you think the movie is going to convey this power properly for people who don't read the comics? They couldn't get normies interested and sticking to reading comics so why would that matter now? If it's not done within the movies, to normies, it's extra homework that they'll skip.
>>149156806 (OP)>>149156814>>149156827>>149156934This is actual garbage written by the doofus that wrote ragnarok
>>149157438i mean, all it has to do to "properly" convey her power level is show her doing what she allegedly does, which wouldn't be that weird for the comics. this is only really an issue if someone decides to insist based on their headcanon that she couldn't possibly be that powerful, which disagrees with what the comics say. it's like the wanda fighting thanos situation. nobody who reads comics would bat an eye at the idea that she had to be taken out of play via some lateral narrative move to stop her solving everything herself. it's only an issue if someone decides that character isn't allowed to do something because they say so.
>>149157575Since when does she need to be taken out in some special way? Sue is a glass canon that gets winded if she uses her powers to much, it's her main weakness.
>>149157408Norrin will never be in the MCU, period. They decided to chase chrome tits instead.
>>149157668i meant wanda and simply getting her to stop engaging in a straight power fight with thanos. the point was this isn't a deviation from comics canon and doesn't need special justification in the first place. it's just how the character works.
>>149156806 (OP)>Sue uses her powers to levitate one of the apes and is like “you threw a monkey into the river?” and Reed says “they’re cosmically-altered baboons, they’ll be fine”, so she throws the ape back into the river. That isn't funny. That's stupid.
>>149156806 (OP)I hate Franklin Richards as a concept. Wrapping this around him is just...no. No thank you.
>>149156806 (OP)Pedro is so hot right now!
>>149157438Nice goalpost move, retard
>>149157668>Sue is a glass canon that gets winded if she uses her powers to much, it's her main weakness.I've always hated this shit
>Contained a gamma nuke blowing up point blank and sent it into space>Held up the island of manhattan for half a day>Shielded an entire state>Got into a fistfight with a godlike being just to stay by her husband's side while he was dying>But oh no she's randomly fatigued now welp there goes everythingC'mon is that really going to stick with her every single time
>>149157104Franklin and Valerie are strongest, right? Sue is strong but soloing Galactus is retarded.
>>149158243Franklin is basically god and Galactus of the next kalpa/universe with Galan being his herald
Valeria is smarter than her dad but not as experienced seemingly
>>149157608This and Superman TeeBeeAch
>>149158243Valeria has no powers (altough she has the intellect of her father which is a power in all but name). Franklin's basically a God but he's just a toddler in the film.
Even if Sue gives the final blow to Galactus in the film, her comic counterpart has even more impressive feats.
>>149156934>the post-credits scene doesn't set up why the F4 are in the MCU dimensionLMAO
Fucking idiots shot themselves in the dick again.
