As much as I dislike the usage of AI for art and creative processes in general, it probably will be used more and more, there's not much that can be done in that regard. However, people still have the power to criticize bad stuff and not give them their money, so if you don't like AI slop or it sucks, best we can do is just not to consume or engage with it.

Yeah it sucks and it sort of feels like trying to prevent a dam leaking by sticking some duct tape in it, but it is what it is.

The same arguments for AI are the ones for the original digital tools.
It's all supposed to lift off the weight of production from the artist's shoulders. That means the studios with resources can focus on art, and the independent artists have more than a snow ball's chance at actually producing a product at all.
Those that use AI and fuck things up are going to be excused by the criticisms of the AI. The AI will be blamed for bad results instead of the studios choosing to misuse the tools and allocate resources poorly. Just like with digital.
The other irksom thing is when it's done right, and the end result is good there will be those who still dismiss it because it used AI. Just like with digital, though those voices have mostly quited over time. Same will happen with AI criticism.
