To be fair, the idea is not without precedence. It shows up in BTAS and other places over the years. If you think about it, it's understandable. Harley is the Joker's sidekick and starts out being enamored with him. Joker is Batman's archnemesis and they constantly fight. If Harley gets tired of the Joker, it makes a certain amount of sense that she'd start being attracted to his nemesis, instead.

I tried reading When Harley Met Bruce but I couldn't finish it. It was just too long and meandering for my liking and I felt like it was juggling too many plot points. Plus I don't like some of the decisions the author made, like the bait and switch with Jim Gordon and Renee Montoya and I feel the writing was too on the nose and obvious at points. Its a shame because its one of the few long form fics with that ship out there. Other people might like it though.
