>>149172522It's overly generic and overly simple. It's basically nothing but a series of standard kids movie tropes played completely straight with a paper-thin plot tying them together. It feels less like a Pixar movie and more like an Illumination movie, and somehow feels even more AI generated than Wish. The characters are all flat and boring, the side characters are so forgettable they honestly shouldn't have even bothered, it's probably the least funny Pixar movie, and the art style is so bad it's making people apologize for shitting on 2D calarts so hard. The only reason it isn't bottom 5 for the studio is because there's nothing hateable about it and there are no serious writing problems (besides ripping off Shark Tale of all movies for its ending).
I genuinely think it would've made more money if they shoehorned political agendas into it. At least then it could make money off of activists and spitewatchers, even if that still wouldn't be enough to succeed. I could see it getting more popular on Disney+ but only as a babby movie.
