I think it's gonna do pretty well, but also be sort of a situational thing where almost no one will care the second time when a sequel comes around. Aquaman is the best comparison I can make where it somehow made a ton of money, because it's competition was franchises people stopped caring about(Bumblebee, a Mary Poppins sequel), but no one actually cared about the movie or characters long term.

I don't see how DC is so bad at everything they do. Not only did they have the people to make a beer universe, they were the ones doing it first and it was one people were already more familiar with and accepted as a shared universe. They literally had everything going for them and out of sheer incompetence squandered it while their competition stole everything out from under them.
