I know this is a cartoon and comics board, it would be nice to actually *talk* about the supposedly anime and manga that they claim is oh so better than cartoons and comics. All I can gather is that Japanese media doesn't have "ugly" characters and feminism with unlikable female black characters who never take responsibility for anything and whatever culture war bs they spew out.

For a while I took their word seriously because while yeah, anime is personally more appealing to me than western stuff because it's not as ugly and preachy, but I'm speaking about my limited ass viewing experience with both mediums. I've since then realized how much more nuanced shit is the more I watch. It can feel good to actually watch stuff people won't shut up about to see what the deal is.
