She probably hates Jax not because he's a selfish asshole, but because Ragatha resents that Jax can express himself freely, while she can't. She's stuck with the sense of having to be polite and never being negative to anyone.
>>149195807It's likely that Ragatha grew up with a mother who was extremely strict or snobby. Hence why Ragatha is always trying to be polite, always presenting a good outward image, and not bringing shame to those she cares about (her mother being the most difficult to please).
Of course, when it gets to be too much, it will get to the point that Ragatha will feel like she can never be herself, like she can never do any good, despite her constant efforts to please others.
Pleasing others and pleasing yourself is a balancing act, and both Ragatha and Jax are two opposites that haven't figured it out yet.
