It helps that Doc was a /co/mrade back before things got as bad as they are now.
Part 2 is probably fine for a blue board. I wonder if each part is going to be six volumes long since that would mean we're following Max and Min into their first couple years of college before it switches over to whoever the main character will be for part 3.
I have no idea who the next main character will be since Nathan and Morgan are still too young to fill the role and Ashley is still an infant right now.

A time skip feels really unlikely with how the comic has been aging the characters in real time. It would also deprive Doc of being able to do current event comics.
