Itโ€™s kind of fucking insane how badly they adapted her into the MCU considering that her old comics were actually really good

Making things the Hollywood way is always going to end with any unique qualities getting tenderized into another gutless, gormless pastiche of what producers are already comfortable with. It's not a problem unique to She-Hulk.

Breaking the fourth wall one time for a joke can work really well, doing it all the time just gets annoying, doesn't matter if it's She-Hulk, Deadpool or anyone else.

As a writer, Byrne was generally as cromulent at superhero comics as most of the other people Marvel and DC employed in the 80s and 90s, but he was a writer you'd want to keep away from characters he had strong opinions about how they "should" be that were completely divorced from reality. Put him on a book like Iron Man where the only 'fixing' he tries to do is just updating the origin a little, and he's fine.

It actually makes total sense when you look at the mcu as a mechanical input/output machine.
Women heroes cant be sexy, being sexy is making the woman vulnerable, women have to be strong. Shehulk is funny and breaks the fourth wall, people love deadpool, so based on these two things you already know theyre going to make her turbo feminist, ugly, critiquing male expecations, and subvert the entire idea of being a 'hero' and thats exactly what they did in so many ways and words. She was never, NEVER going to be hot they would literally rather lose money and make a piece of subversive anti art than make her hot they know what they are doing 100%

I remember hearing a story how the guy behind The Incredible Hulk (the Bill Bixby series) had some really stupid ideas like wanting to make Hulk red because "red is the color of rage, not green" but got tard-wrangled out of it. He came of as somebody who's very far up his ass and clearly thought of himself as an auteur type too dignified for silly slop like comic books but that worked because Hulk is a tragic character and the auteur's touch helped the character. Plus, as I said, there were people to rein him in on the stupider things.
Nowadays there are no artiste' types and no tard-wranglers, so any chucklefuck can do whatever they want without anybody telling them "hey, that's fucking stupid".

I love older pre-MCU superhero shows, even the bad ones.
Bixby series managed to be dramatic without being pointlessly edgy (aka MCU Netflix stuff) or plain dumb (everything else especially this slop in particular). It's too bad we can no longer get anything like that, where it felt like people behind it actually cared to deliver something truly compelling.

Well, yeah, that's the point.
You no longer have people who want to create something of genuine merit and people who have artistic vision. The beauty of the 70s series is having one man who had both but was stopped from carrying away too far.
It was a result of a beautiful relationship between cinema and comics and as a result it can please both comic book fans and people who are looking for some genuinely good sci-fi drama.
You can't have that nowadays. Feige is a fucking retard with the shittiest tastes in comics and there are no longer any auteurs Snydertards need not apply.
The closest you have was Nolan and I doubt he's gonna touch capeshit any time soon.
