Tbf, it's her only good comic. Everything else is mid at best. But BoP is worth checking out.

The ones where you really don't notice that Gail is just using the same voice for 3-5 different female characters because he writing is being carried by absolutely impeccable art. I hold all of her work I used to like in scrutiny now that I'm older and can have read enough titles from her to be able to get into her headspace and see that she isn't trying anymore and has probably been mentally and emotionally checked out of the game for far, far longer than I would have ever gave her credit. Like, I like Birds of Prey because the characters are drawn hot and exciting. I'm beginning to think her writing wasn't actually all that great in hindsight.

I like that she walked back her Women in Fridge debacle. It never held weight anyway.

She's currently writing Rogue with the same exact fangirl love I have held for her since 1985, so I'm in hog heaven reading UXM. I will put up with the shitty teen heroes or retconning mutants to the early 20th century or whatever because she isn't tarnishing the characters I read the book for.

UXM being Roguewank is the worst part of the book. Every fucking character except Gambit, Deathdream (Japanese Ragdoll), Calico and Jitter is just background noise for Rogue. It may as well be a fucking Rogue solo book. I don't even know why Wolverine, Nightcrawler and especially Jubilee are there.

It's dog shit, it ruined Huntress' character, who went from being complex, Batman's right-hand , member of the League, to a bitch. Because uhm, female empowerment. This run was only successful because of Benes' art, which managed an ass shot per page.
